Someone apparently decided to fuss it out for the better part of half an hour before finally falling asleep...but now he's sound asleep. Mind you, in the course of his fussing he rolled himself to the far end of the crib from the camera and the mobile is blocking part of the view so I can't even see all of him to know that his head isn't wedged funny in the corner of the crib or something silly like that. So instead of opening the door to look at him and risk waking him up, I'm going to trust that he's not wedged funny in the corner of the crib...or something silly like that.
Dd had a fall outside and had a bad brush burn on her arm. She cried for so long I thought she may have broke it, again. It was like an hour cry fest. Grow a pair dd !!
We are switching to disposables full time. The cost is making me want to puke but every time we switch to cloth for a day, he blows up in a huge rash. He just needs, like, a permanent coating of Desitin between constant teething poop and pee. Fuck.

I felt the same way when I took a break (ha!) from cloth, but, seriously, seriously. Seriously. . It's going to make things so much easier. Just the lack of having to spray poop is worth it for me, gah.
Can C wear target brand? They're cheap. I use huggies overnights but just cheap targets for the day and it's like $20 a month. There are always gift card deals or cartwheel coupons. I waste $$$ on far more frivolous things that save me no time or energy. Disposables save me both = worth it.

We've never tried Target brand. I feel like part of the reason I love cloth is because we never run out, so I want to do something that I can get via Subscribe & Save/Amazon Prime. Between me working and H's crazy work hours and a child that can't stay awake past 7 pm, errands just don't happen during the week.
I woke up at 1am last night & so started the stomach bug. I'm missing my 3rd grader doing the talent show (singing & playing guitar) tonight & I'm so bummed. Ironically I just started feeling better 5min ago & contemplated running out to watch her but I'm a total disgusting mess.

Are Luvs terrible? They're pretty cheap too.
No, I buy them on s&s. Kirkland are even better, but they're also more expensive.

Tonight is the night I am planning to night wean M. I told him at dinner. Not sure how much he understood, but it was a funny conversation. We will see how it goes. I may need you all as he screams at me in the middle of the night.

Nah, Luvs aren't bad but Target are the best cheap option IMO. I haven't had issues outside of overnight with any of the cheap generics though. I know people are super brand loyal to pampers/huggies (as was I when I first diapered DD before I switched to cloth), but I don't think they're so much better than the store brands to justify the cost. I also like BRU 's store brand quite a bit but that doesn't solve your amazon preference.
If it helps, I've found that the jumbo huge box generally lasts about a month.

i am going to pretend this won't happen to L.
she cannot use any kind of disposable. we are switching to cloth once i wash it all. 7th gen is the only thing thats ok and they SUCK at absorbency.
she got huge pussing sores from target diapers. they are supposed to be hypoallergenic and work for every other baby!
After @starry's thread I spent some time looking into cruises. Then I realized that dh hates them. Now I'm considering how bad it would be to leave dh with the kids for a few days to go on one alone. Starfish!
I think I'm letting all of this (misremembered) stories about people's kids STTN by DS' age get to me. It should be normal for an 8 week old to still wake up 2-3 times a night. He just stopped being considered a newborn!

Luvs have worked fine for us. We use huggies overnights, too.

That should be my rant today.
Hey my 7 month old still gets up and 2-3 times is a decent night lol. My DS1 is my best sleeper but he is a holy terror when he's awake. Every kid is different. Just keep chanting that to yourself

I'm in for a long night. I have the stomach bug that DD has. We watched a lot of Curious George today. DH came home early and I went straight to bed at 4. I've tossed and turned ever since. I don't see much sleep in my future.
Tell me, what is the best overnight diaper? DS hates a wet diaper and refuses to go back to sleep unless I change it
L is a wicked heavy wetter. We use pampers overnight in a size up. She doesn't leak.
At 8 weeks we just used pampers baby dry because overnights didn't come in her size. She was sleeping until 4am by that point and was fine until then so with 2-3 wake ups I would be surprised if your ds leaked
Today is DH's birthday but we'll celebrate tomorrow when he gets home from his conference. Gifts is the bottom rung for both of us when it comes to the whole love language thing but I reeeeally think I nailed it!
I bought him exact replicas of things he already owns, but needs new (nice international wallet and reef flip flops). I know he'll appreciate the wallet, he'll probably insist that the flip flops are unnecessary since he believes his 5 year old pair are fine (seriously). This is my DH in a nutshell.

You can buy the up&up diapers from target.com but you just have to plan ahead a bit more because their shipping is so slow.

This is what happened to us, around the same age. I couldn't get the rash to go away. I tried to put a cloth on him a couple weeks ago and he freaked out. I am hoping to do it longer with #2.

I'm trying to be breezy about the thread earlier where everyone was AWing the fun things their babies are doing because V isn't doing most of that, and she's older than a lot of the babies in that thread. But I'm kind of worried that she's not rolling, and she's just now starting to grab at things and isn't even doing that all that often.
I also need to figure out what to do about her sleep. Generally she sleeps well once we get her down, but getting her down for the night is always a several hour ordeal. I honestly don't think she's ever fallen asleep on her own. I've always nursed her to sleep or she falls asleep being walked around by one of us (usually in the Ergo). I know that we need to get her to fall asleep on her own but I have no idea how to do it without a lot of tears and I'm dreading it.

You guys are making me want to cruise. DH and I agreed to switch off vacations- one relaxing like an AI then the next sight seeing, etc. We are also trying to hit up most of the US. Anyway, I could totally get him to cruise if drinks were included!! (And @this, I am impressed with your 10+ cruises with friends!!)
We had super easy bedtime tonight compared to usual. I feel so much less stressed when that child goes to sleep without a huge production.
I'm less concerned with leaks right now as him waking up from a wet diaper. I'm sometimes worried changing him will wake him up, especially if I feed him first. If I change him first he inevitably poops during the bottle.

My DS never went to sleep on his own until he was over 6 months old. It just wasnt happening. I had a lot of several hour nights too (and sometimes still do) but he can go to sleep on his own with only a little help from me now. I fought him to not nurse to sleep and it wasnt worth it, honestly, until he was ready. Now we nurse, then rock, then stand and sway for a few minutes while I sing Twinkle Twinkle.

cincodemayo OMG don't be. It's Carnival lol. We've been on 5 or so cruises that have been truly enjoyable even when you're not completely shithoused. lol
Coordinating trips with friends though sounds nice. We talk about it all the time ("we should TOTALLY go to Napa together!" Etc) but I'm pretty sure the reality is that it will be after child rearing that we will actually do it.
Brie - you can set up delivery subscriptions for diapers from Target. Delivery is free with Red Card. Just type subscriptions into the Target search bar.

My DD shares a birthday with your M. We are night weaning next week. Again. We night weaned a few months ago, but then I gave in when her sleep went to crap on the most recent tooth. *sigh*
