So we were invited to 1 year old twins' bday party....the mom just put on the facebook invite a little poem that basically says, we don't want your crappy toys, please contribute to our kids' college fund.
Post the poem and then I will decide. But probably tacky.
A and B are turning ONE!! We hope you can make it and join in the fun, They already have books and toys galore, So many in piles from ceiling to floor! Instead we ask for something they'll need, In the future to help them succeeded! Please help their fund for College or University, We think this is a great gift and hope you agree. For some money in their piggy bank, We'll give lots of Thanks!

Tacky, nothing wrong with mentioning to the grands that a contribution to a college fund would be appreciated if they are interested in doing that but this is very tacky.
Ok, that's what I thought. But a bunch of people liked the post and others commented saying "Great idea!!" So I'm like maybe I'm doing this kid birthday thing wrong (kidding!)
