Odonata, researchers believe that certain people are genetically predisposed to stretch marks, so there likely isn't much you can do in the way of preventing them. Staying hydrated and using creams could possibly help some, but who knows.
I've tried a couple different creams/lotions/oils earlier on, but I found that olive oil worked best for me simply because it was super hydrating without any fragrance added. I hate fragrant lotions! But really, though, I haven't been diligent at all at using anything.

I've heard coconut oil is great. I might even try some myself.
Yeah, it's a great sign that your mother never got them. My mom never got them either, but my sister was covered with them after her first pregnancy. :/

1. How far along are you? 31.5 Weeks
2. What's your belly button up to? It sticks out like a 1/2 an inch. I used to have an innie, but it started sticking out during my first pregnancy and has never gone back to normal.
3. Linea negra yet? Just barely. It was much darker with my first, but not until the end.
4. Stretchmarks? Lots, but mainly on the underside. My bump only looks cute when covered with clothes.
