I'm reading Death by Rhubarb. It's a re-read for me, and I am enjoying it. I first read it in 1999, and this time I have a different perspective. My older brother has since moved to Kansas City and I am much more familiar with the areas, places, products mentioned. And I remember the mystery, but not whodunit so far (that may change later in the book though).
June Mini-Challenge Tasks: Cat on the Cover/Character: The Cat Who Wasn't a Dog: I read this June 1-3. It was a fun adventure and a lighthearted mystery. Repeat/Reread: Death by Rhubarb: in progress.
QOTW: Mysteries. I read mainly cozy mysteries, but I'm not opposed to any sub-genre, though I don't really like any that involve supernatural elements or exceptionally graphic descriptions of the crimes.
I'm about halfway done with Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders by Vincent Bugliosi. It's long (650+ pages) so it's taking me a while. I'm really enjoying it (well, as much as you can enjoy a true story about murder). It's interesting for sure.
For the June Mini-Challenge, I haven't started anything yet. I did request from the library A street cat named Bob : and how he saved my life by James Bowen. I may reread Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (for the reread and for the June Book Club book). For a book that is part of a trilogy, I'm hoping to read The Atlantis World by A.G.Riddle.
I just finished The Prime Minister's Secret Agent, the fourth Maggie Hope book, and I think I'm going to start Ruth Reichl's Delicious. It's the last day of our beach trip, so that seems like a good light read for today and heading home.
I haven't paid attention to the mini challenge yet -- I'm planning to figure it out once we're home.
QOTW: contemporary literary fiction, is that a real genre? But I read a little of everything. I tend to avoid high fantasy and heavy sci-fi, and I don't read a lot of non-narrative nonfiction.
I'm halfway through The Elephant Whisperer by Lawrence Anthony, audiobook. Non-fiction about a re-homing troubled herd of wild elephants in South Africa. I love it, and now I want to visit the Thula Thula reserve someday.
Prior to that, I listened to In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Lived up to my expectations. I already loved Capote.
Actually reading, I've been stuck on Burgess Boys by Elizabeth Strout. There's nothing wrong wrong with it, I just am so tired by the time I lay down to read at night, that I only make it a few pages.
Getting on my audiobook kick was the best idea ever. I've flown though them.
QOTW: historical fiction. But I like other genres, too.
I am reading Firefly Lane. It was on my Nook and when I had finished my book club book (Orphan Train - excellent!) I decided to pick something I have had for a while and not gotten around to. I like it so far. It does not fit the June challenge - I should have thought about that.
Print: The Plantagenets by Dan Jones. This is my bedtime reading. Currently up to Richard I going on crusade. Seems to be a well researched overview thus far.
Audio: The Winter Ghosts by Kate Mosse. This is my commute book. I just started it this morning.
Ebook: Artful by Peter David. This is my whenever book. It's cracking me up. A hilarious mix of modern sentiment and Dickensian language. If one is nuanced and has a good grounding in the Victorian era (fiction, history, etc.), there are quite a few things slipped in. Like you'd know exactly who Alexandrina is the moment she appears.
QOTW: I really don't have one. I read pretty much everything I can get my hands on. Except Romance.
I just started a Game of Thrones re-read. I plan to read one book every ~2 months in the hope there's a publication plan for book 6 by Feb 2015. That's probably too optimistic, though.
I also just checked out the audiobook version of Ape House for an embarrassing 3rd time. This time I have only 5 chapters left so I'm really hoping I finish in a reasonable time frame.
What are you reading? Are you enjoying it? I just started Born in Ice by Nora Roberts, book two in the Born trilogy. I like it so far but I'm only 10% in so it's too early to really tell.
If you're participating in the June Mini-Challenge, how are you going? Are these books for any of the tasks? I'm not.
QOTW: What is your favorite genre? Aaahh hard to answer. I read romance (paranormal, contemporary, suspense) the most.

Well, you kind of are by default- one of the challenges is to read a book with a three word title or that is part of a trilogy...

I just finished If I Stay, 3 word book title for the June challenge. I am not sure what I will start next since none of the books I have checked out from the library fit the challenge!
I just finished Air Bound, part of Christine Feehan's Sisters of the Heart series (paranormal romance). I enjoyed it, probably not as much as others in this or the Drake sisters series, but still fun. And I just picked up Fangirl, so I might start that.
I read mostly romances, but some mysteries, history, biography. And some stuff for work (business, computer software).
I was on vacation at the start of the week, so I haven't looked over the challenge to see if I'll participate or not.

Reeeallly. I wonder how many more I can read. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
Currently reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I'm just over halfway through and I really like it. Several friends hated the ending but have been kind enough to not tell me what it is, so I can have my own opinion. I hope it doesn't suck!
QOTW: Majority of my reads are general/literary fiction. I'll read a different genre on occasion though.
Reading "The Invisible Bridge." So far I like it. It somewhat reminds me of The Bronze Horseman as far as literary style goes.
Short recap: "Paris, 1937. Andras Lévi, a Hungarian-Jewish architecture student, arrives from Budapest with a scholarship, a single suitcase, and a mysterious letter he promised to deliver. But when he falls into a complicated relationship with the letter's recipient, he becomes privy to a secret that will alter the course of his—and his family’s—history.
From the small Hungarian town of Konyár to the grand opera houses of Budapest and Paris, from the despair of Carpathian winter to an unimaginable life in labor camps, The Invisible Bridge tells the story of a family shattered and remade in history’s darkest hour."
QOTW: I don't really have one, I'll read a bit of everything except for romance. But, I would say a lot of my books are either Historical Fiction (as evidenced above) or dystopian right now. The dystopian is hard because I really like it, but wish there were more written for an adult audience and not YA. I still read YA, but I tire of the cheesy love stories.
