Still reading The Invisible Bridge from last week. It's really freakin' long and I just haven't had time to get it done. I think I'm only about 40% done
Woo-hoo, Christy082! Congratulations! Now, I have cats, so my only advice involves early litter box training. So, maybe not so helpful. :-)
Reading - Fangirl. I'm about 40% through and really enjoying it. I was very much like the main character (still am, in some ways).
QOTW - Not actively superstitious, but I can't pass by a penny without picking it up (find a penny, pick it up, all the day you'll have good luck), and I won't walk under a ladder. But I do want to get a black cat!
I am reading I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings for the CEP book club. It's good. I'm 20% through it (just before THAT part for those who have read it).
I've read 1 book for the June mini challenge (3 word title) and I'd LIKE to read more! I need to read at least 1 more book this month to be 1/2 way through my reading goal.
I just finished Invisible City by Julia Dahl, which I thought was really good. I also just started Unorthodox by Deborah Feldman, which is interesting so far, especially because we live near an orthodox community and I've always sort of wondered about them.
QOTW: I do believe in some version of Karma, in the idea that what you put out in the world you get back.
I'm reading City of Heavenly Fire and I'm about 1/2 way. I feel the need to re-read the Infernal Devices Series because there are some character mentions and I can't remember all the details.
I'm reading Sideways on a Scooter by Miranda Kennedy, a memoir of her experiences living in India. It's pretty interesting.
QOTW: I'm not superstitious. I do believe in karma in the sense that your own positive or negative energy and emotions contribute to how positively or negatively others respond to you.
I finished Bronze Horseman this week. Well, I skimmed the last 1/10th cuz it's effing LOOONG. It was OK. Maybe a 3.
I think I'm going to read The Fault in our Stars again. I read it last summer but with the movie coming out, I think I'd like to read it again.
I think I mentioned in last week's thread but I read Fangirl this past weekend and I loved it so much. And I did not like Eleanor and Park. Well, I liked the writing in Eleanor and Park but not the story.
I'm reading Carl Sagan's The Demon Haunted World and listening to Elegy for Eddie (Maisie Dobbs # 9). I'm looking them both, not part of any particular challenge.
Qotw: I'm not really superstitious or believe in karma per se, but I still refer to it often. I think treating others how you want to be treated is good to do but not necessarily because of fear that it will come back on you if you don't.
Very slow reading week so I'm still on Water for Elephants. I guess that counts for the June 3 word title and I'll be rereading another book soon just not sure which one yet.
QOTW: Not really but I do kind of believe in positive thinking or I try to at least.

Still reading Dead Man's Chest for the 3-word task for the Challenge. I really enjoy it, but I find I just haven't been able to read more than an hour at a time.
QOTD: Not really superstitious, but I do believe in something like fate or karma. I'm not sure what to call it but I am sure there is a cosmic retribution system for when someone is being a total ass.
The new Outlander! I'm also reading The 30 Day Heart Tune Up. DH was recently diagnosed with a genetic heart thing, so we need to make some lifestyle changes around here.
I'm only superstitious about knocking on wood (or the dashboard if I'm in the car.)
I'm reading Mastering the Art of Soviet Cooking: A Memoir of Food and Longing by Anya Von Bremzen. It's really very good. The author writes about her family's experience living in the USSR and relates much of that experience through their food culture. I'm fascinated by stories of people living in countries with oppressive, cult-like regimes like the USSR or North Korea.

I loved this book so much! It was long, but it was so good, I thought. I also really enjoyed Tatiana and Alexander (the 2nd book in the trilogy.)
I just finished Kim Stanley Robinson's Forty Signs of Rain, which is the first book in a fictional trilogy about climate change. It was OK but not fantastic.
I'm also re-reading Game of Thrones. I first read it quite a few years ago and thought I should remind myself what happened due to all the hype, and in case I get around to watching the show.
ETA- I just went back to check the June book club and realized both will count (as my book in a trilogy and my re-read). So, I guess I'm doing well!
I also forgot to say that I'm listening to The Last Lecture while walking the dog. It's very well done so far.
QOTW: not superstitious. I believe things have rational explanations. However, I also think we probably don't have allthe science done to do the explaining.

You did mention it - it's one reason I decided to go ahead and read it (I love getting recommendations . I'd liked the description, and while I enjoyed Eleanor and Park, it was kind of "eh" so I was waffling a bit. But I loved it! Now I want a Levi of my own! lol

That makes me happy. I've already gone back a couple times and read all the Levi parts, lol. I want a Levi too! Well, if not for me, then one day for my daughter

Congratulations!
I just finished reading The Astronaut Wives Club. Currently I'm reading The Goldfinch and Divergent. I'm loving The Goldfinch, and can't wait to be done with Divergent...it's definitely not my cup of tea.
And yes, I totally believe in karma (says the girl who returned $300 she found on the ground at the gas station - heaven can uncheck something from my naughty list)!
I was listening to The Last Empress. It's not a bad book. I also started A Dance with Dragons. This one will take me awhile. I really like the series but this book is written slightly different. I'm not caring for the addition of the character's thoughts.
I haven't seen what the mini-challenge is about so I'm nowhere on that.
I'm not superstitious but I am not sure if I believe in karma and all that.

How was that one? It has been on my radar but I saw a bunch of bad reviews and decided to skip it for now.

It was okay, but just like most of the other books I've read this year, it just kinda ended. There were so many characters that it was hard to keep track of them too.

Can I ask which The Last Empress are you reading? I know of at least three books with that title.
We decided to run a little mini-challenge for the group this month to see how it goes. No prizes, just a bit of fun to see if we can read different things or make our planned reading a bit more fun/interesting. Information on the taste is here: June Book Club Mini-Challenge

The author is Anchee Min. In looking up the author I found out that the book I am reading is 2/2. No wonder there was no background on the empress. I was wondering why the book started where it did.
