My big suitcase that I've had since 1997 is finally torn up so badly that I need to replace it. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but also want something of decent quality that will last a while. I've never looked for luggage at these stores, but love them for handbags. Do TJ Maxx and Marshalls typically have big suitcases? Are they decent brands and good prices? If so, I think I'll go check them out tomorrow and hope I find something.
If you have a Sam's or BJ's I would look there. We got a 4pc Samsonite set that has the all direction wheels, etc. I think I paid $150 but its a great set.
I have never purchased from TJMaxx/Marshall's, I know they have them but unless it was on clearance I would imagine the individual pieces would be more expensive.

Yes, I like Heys luggage and they usually have a lot. It's super light hard side luggage. It's been through a lot and still looks good. It scuffs at most and the locks are TSA approved. I have the giraffe print laptop roller and carry on. I plan to get a big set in hot pink or the Britto series if possible. Samsonite and Atlantis also make nice luggage. The designer stuff can be hit or miss depending on who the designer contracts to make the bags.
My luggage that lasted 15 years is Samsonite. I'm sure it was moderately priced, and it's really held up great.
I've never bought luggage before (my set was a high school graduation gift), but I'd be fine spending $100 on a big suitcase, or ideally $150 or so for a set.
I'll check out TJ Maxx and Marshalls tomorrow, and if they don't have anything good, then try Costco. Thanks, girls!
FCG - I appreciate the specific brand recommendations since I'm pretty clueless!
I just replaced my small carry-on with one from Samsonite. I got it at their outlet store. But I agree with pp to check out Marshall's and Costco. Especially if you're looking for a larger size.

N8 problem! Google the Heys stuff. It's really cute, well made, and functional. I like hard side stuff since it's harder to over pack and can't rip. The laptop case can hold a nice sized computer and much more. It has a removable sleeve, file slots, and cord case. You could use it for road trips and it would be the perfect size for your DS for clothes when you fly when you take out the pockets. They are always in the stores above and on sites like Rue.
