Prime and self-referral

Refresh my memory please. 

I can self-refer to a GYN for an annual. If s/he finds something at the annual that requires further treatment, do I then need a referral for the continued treatment? Or no because it stems from the original self-referred visit?

Will I have to have an appointment with my PCM to get it approved?

I basically just don't like my PCM and have limited childcare options right now, so I'm trying to avoid making another appointment.

Yes, you'll need to see your PCM. I tried to call to get a referral for my son, and they made me bring him in for an appointment even though it was a huge waste of time
