If you have had a HSG test done did you take something before hand? I finally got my doctor to schedule one for next Wednesday. Also did you found there if there was anything wrong or did you have to wait and talk to you doctor about it?
I just took a couple excedrin beforehand. Even my dr's office told me to take something about an hour prior. I hardly felt anything at all and didn't even have any cramping afterward.
I took 4 ibuprofen beforehand (800 mg total). It took about a week to get the official results, but the dr who did it told me at the time of the test that everything looked good.

A bit off topic but has anyone paid for one of these OOP? My insurance doesn't cover and doctor is starting to suggest it along with a SA. Just wondering about costs. Also, did you take more than a day off work?

I didn't take anything. I also didn't take the day off from work. Just a few hours - time to get there and back and for the procedure which takes about 30 minutes start to finish. It feels like bad period cramps - nothing that is intolerable just uncomfortable. But I have heard that 600-800mg of ibuprofen is a good idea.

Came across this thread via the app, sorry for intruding!
I paid OOP for my hsg, it was about $600.
Also, I didn't take any medicine and thought the speculum insertion was the worst part, so it's not too bad for some.

I wasn't OOP for mine, so I can't help there, but I didn't even take one day off of work. My appt was at 8AM, and I was at work in time for a 9:30 meeting, and I worked my usual 8 hour day. I drove myself to and from my HSG as well

Mine was around $700, IIRC. I paid 100% OOP. I live in an urban area, took the train to the appointment, left appointment and walked .7 miles back to the train, and then went straight to work. I think you could take a day off if you're looking for a reason to take a day off, but if your PTO is precious you will probably be fine to go to work.
OP - I didn't take anything. I was fine. The biggest advice I have is to stick with panty liners for a few days. Just trust me on this, ok?
