Next weekend is our long awaited trip to Boston. On Sunday we are planning on hitting the north shore with the goal of finding a delicious lobster roll. Where should we go?
I don't know that area very well so hopefully one of the other ladies can help, but I hope you have a GREAT trip!
Thanks. So far on the agenda:
Sam Adams Brewery Tour Cambridge Brewing Company Lord Hobo Harvard Yard Walden Pond Lexington/Concord North shore - stops not entirely planned but thinking of Gloucester, Rockport and Salem (probably won't have time to see all of them) And a full day at Fenway
In Harvard Yard, do not rub the foot of the John Harvard statue for good luck. Pretty sure you'll catch something besides luck For a cheap lunch, Pinocchio's is one of the few old institutions left in the Square. It's teeny tiny but has the most amazing slices of Sicilian pizza and my friend swears by their subs. Bon Chon also has pretty good Korean (in the basement of the Galleria building on JFK St.). Tasty Burger is a small chain and has good burgers, shakes, beers, sides, etc. at really reasonable prices.
You can do a whale watching tour out of Gloucester if interested.
She's not kidding. Never, ever, ever touch the toe. No matter how many people tell you it's good luck. You should check out the Museum of Natural History and the glass flowers exhibit. For food, there's also a Shake Shack in the Square now, with an excellent frozen yogurt place right next doorr. Also, Charlie's Kitchen is a dive bar with a decent beer selection, good pub food, and a beer garden out back. Orinoco is Latin American (specifically Venezuelan, I think) - the food is good, and they have a really great (small) patio out back.
And yes to Woodman's - I don't personally eat seafood, but everyone swears by them.

Sorry just seeing this. I am allergic to lobster but my father is always on the quest for the perfect lobster roll.
I have to recommend Belle Isle Seafood in Winthrop. My father said it was the best. www.belleisleseafood.com/
It's not scenic, though. But it's damn good.
For scenic, my father loved the Lobster Pool in Rockport which I think someone already suggested. They have picnic tables out on the water and I believe you can BYO wine or whatever to drink there.
I used to live in Salem so I have tons of recommendations although I did move away five years ago. Just walking through downtown is fun and make sure you walk over to the Custom House and out the pier to the little bitty lighthouse.
There is this new burger place in the old Salem jail that I have been dying to check out and I will visit it the next time I go to check on my rental property up there. It's called A&B burgers.
