I'm baby-sitting the house today. We have all of the following happening: windows being installed, mosquito sprayer coming, plumber coming, A/C guy coming. Rox is at my parents' and H is working. It'll be 93 today, and since we're having 11 windows installed, I doubt the AC will do much. Fun :/ Plus a high risk for severe storms later this afternoon, so I hope they can get all the windows done by then. Fingers crossed.
7yr old overly excited boys are exhausting. Our trip to WI/Chicago went well but we are worn slam out. So much talking. And bouncing. And general loudness.
DH did great in Chicago on his own, and I borrowed some xanax from my mom to get through the trip. It worked perfectly, and more or less confirmed that I'm a nervous traveller. I plan to bring it up with my PCP at my physical in Aug.
All the walking and such has irritated DH's joints in his hip and ankle. His ankle was SO swollen last night. He said they felt better today, but I think he needs to call an orthro. Or more likely, get better walking shoes.
I found an etsy store that I LOOOOVE. I ordered a ridiculous amount of chapstick with various essential oils in them and I am DYING to try my new flavors. They are being shipped from MI to MN, and somehow they are now in RI .

We had such a good weekend, and ended up going to the beach both days. Towards the end of the first day DH said "you could totally convince me to do this again tomorrow" so we called another friend of ours an made plans for Sunday. Last night DH just kept saying "this was one of the best weekends in a long time, I had so much fun." DD was absolutely amazing all weekend, if I wasn't so exhausted this morning I'd have a permanent smile on my face.
I only have 3 1/2 days this week and than on to camping. We are having a really big group camp this year for the first time in a long time and I am excited. H got the camper out of storage last night and tonight I will be cleaning it up.
One of my nephews was arrested last week. Burglary. I found out last night. He is still sitting in jail because no one is able to post his bond. Damn kid just graduated HS. Was planning on going in the marines and than pulls something like this. I am so sad for my sister and for him frankly. What a shitty way to start out your adult life.
Went to the lake with my sisters, brother and nephews. Brought the Peanut but he was definitely not happy with the cold water. Besides that it was a really good time. Yesterday DH and I went to see Motown. It was phenomenal. Later we went to see Transformers - good but too long.
This morning on my way to work my phone played really good music.
I told a lady in the children's section of my store to stop cussing yesterday. Her son was apparently touching stuff and she kept saying fuck and shit every other word. While standing next to the little kids table where other children were sitting. I HATE confrontation, but damnit, I am in charge back there, and if someone is cussing, other parents are likely to take their kids and leave.

I am so cranky today. I am so stressed about moving, and when I called the airline today to add my cats to my plane tickets, she said she couldn't make the reservation without the dimensions of the carrier. A medium size delta branded carrier wasn't specific enough. I'd only be slightly irritated, but I called a week ago specifically to ask what I needed to add my cats to my ticket, and that rep didn't say anything about needing to know this! I hate everything dealing with moving.
We went to a Catholic/Hindu wedding last night with two ceremonies. The Catholic ceremony started half an hour late, we then had two hours until the Hindu ceremony was supposed to start, and then that ceremony started over an hour late. It was one heck of a party, but we didn't leave until midnight, since we were waiting for the cake to be cut, and then we had to drive an hour back home. I'm exhausted.

I'm dog sitting for a fews days the next 2 weeks. The owner is an older lady that is at a work conference, so I'm just chilling in the hotel with her dog and working from my laptop. Getting paid to do what I do every day is pretty awesome and it doesn't hurt that the dog is cute too
I'm setting up my guestroom nesting for the highly-anticipated visit from FormerlyRR. Mattress arrived the week before last (one day earlier than tracker predicted!). Bed skirt got here last week. Bed frame arriving this Wednesday (according to tracker). Cover for my new sofa tomorrow (according to tracker). New sheets (between July 3 and July 9; Kohl's has not provided tracker link, yet--fargin' bastages. I mean, come on! I ordered at 9:00 last night--what's the hold up??). Yeah. I'm slightly obsessed.
My SIL gave me a gift set for Christmas. I usually forget about a product unless I love it. I have used every last drop of my original products, except for the bath salt which I never use anyway. So I think that I'm trying to say that I highly recommend it .
I want squirrelymom to describe the taste of pickled peaches.
Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and metric ton of sugar and peaches cooked in a half water half vinegar base. PM me your address and I'll send you a jar.
isabel this is as close to a recipe as I have. Just keep adding stuff until it tastes good. I started with 2 cups water, 2 cups vinegar, and ten pounds of peeled sliced peaches on medium heat. Add sugar until very sweet, then spices. Cook for about ten minutes after it tastes right.
lol that's my kind of recipe! Ok, I'm going to give this a shot when palisade peaches come in at the stores. Thanks!
I leave my laptop on the back of the couch so that K can't get to it. He has now figured out that he can stand on the couch and play with the blinds and see out the window. He was playing with the blinds last night and knocked my laptop off the back of the couch. I opened it this morning to send myself a picture and the picture is all fucked up. Guess I know what I'll be doing with part of my insurance reimbursement. And then I'll be finding a new place to put my laptop.
Huh, apparently there's a suspicious package so we have to stay on one side of the building. Because if a bomb goes off, only half the building will blow up. Good times.

On Mother's Day SIL was with IL's and her DH was 2 hours away visiting his parents. Then Father's Day - the same thing happened. I didn't think anything of it really.
Saturday IL's were over and talking about the family beach trip this year. We aren't going (we usually don't), but MIL tells me that SIL is going and her DH is taking that week off and visiting his parents.
They've been married 4 years now and this is totally a new thing. They don't get a ton of vacation at their jobs so they usually take vacation together. It's none of my business and I would never say anything. It just struck me as odd and randoms seemed the perfect place to post this. I just - idk. I hope everything is ok.
I am addicted to tracking packages that I order online. I obsessively check the status from the moment I get the email confirming my purchase, and periodically throughout the day. I. Can't. Stop.

I am so tired today, I cannot wake up.
My boss is off this week so I've joked several time to my H, "...so I'M off, too!" but here I am still in my robe. LOL.
We both took Thursday off so I'm trying to find some fun things to do this weekend. We were thinking about the Safari Park but it will probably be too hot. So now I'm crusing Groupon and Living Social for ideas.
I just spoke to Andy's new school on the phone. He is doing great! He had lots of fun playing outside, was fingerpainting when I called, is saying HI! to everyone who walks by the room (sounds like him), and apparently is getting along particularly well with a new friend named AJ. Lots of playing and sharing going on.
Phew. What a relief. I was nervous, but he has just amazed me with how well he has done with the transition. I love that kid so much.
