I don't know what we'll do for the 4th. I'm guessing nothing since it has been canceled here.. I just don't think we'll feel like driving to see fireworks or anything. We so rarely do NOTHING I wouldn't mind at all!
I'm excited, we will have about 20-25 people over! Should be a good time!
That sounds amazing! What's on the menu?
I am going for chill. So burgers and dogs on the grill, plus pasta salad, green salad, and potato salad. People were asking me what to bring so I assigned apps and desserts to the folks who asked. But I did pick up stuff for s'mores! Fire pit! Woo!
I got a case of bud light (keeping it classy!) and a 12 pack of summer shandy (my fave!) but we usually end up with a ton of alcohol so I'm not worried about that.
Our house is in a perfect viewing spot for the fireworks show, so we're having a few friends over for burgers and fireworks. Now that we've got our patio lights up, the back yard looking good and the small improvements I'm making to the house, I'm really excited to have people over!
And what else is good... I forgot my coffee mug in my office yesterday, so I had nothing to put my coffee in this morning at home...darn the luck. I had to go to a local coffee shop and buy coffee! For shame!
Today is my Friday, kind of. I'm going to work from home in the morning and then leave for CT in the afternoon. We're having a cookout Friday, and then I think my brother and sister are leaving Saturday morning. I will stick around and hang out with my parents til Sunday morning and then drive back. I'll probably hang out with my friend in the neighborhood Sunday since her BF has to work all weekend.
We're going to meet up with some friends at a brewery (shocking, I know) for breakfast, head to another for lunch, then go home and brew our own beer. So the 4th will be very beer-heavy. Sunday we're going to build our keezer so we have something to put the beer in. Beyond that, my only plans this weekend is yoga, yoga, studying for yoga, and maybe some more yoga.
Oh, and on that line - I taught my first yoga class last night! A whole ONE person showed up and she gave up 30 mins in, but she warned me ahead of time that she was severely out of shape and wasn't sure she could hang. We took it super easy, but I was so proud of her for even showing up (and she's about 65 on top of it!). From the sounds of it, next week's classes are going to be packed since the holiday will have passed!
Also, so I've brought a couple leftover desserts into the office here, and people loved them. Then our tax accountant told me about these rhubarb squares from some bakery out on Long Island, and asked if he brought me one would I try to recreate it. Of course I said yes. lol So yesterday he brought me rhubarb since I hadn't been able to find it, I doctored up a recipe a little, and he just told me they're 'a homerun'. Woo hoo!
(I think the rhubarb came out a little sour, but otherwise it was good.)
Today is my Friday! Other than taking a pole class at noon tomorrow, I have zero idea what we're doing. If we don't see fireworks I'll be sad. I LOVE fireworks.

I'm sorry you don't have plans yet and really hope you get to see fireworks! I love fireworks too so I'd be upset without them.

We have a beachhouse in Galveston Thursday thru Sunday, so we are having a beach weekend! The h's friends completely dropped out a couple of weeks ago, leaving us a bit angry over that, but it worked out that MY friends are coming instead and they are younger, more fun, and overall better people to hang on the beach with. So it worked out just fine, and I just won't take those friends of H's for their word anymore when planning events.
They do fireworks at the beach both Fri and Sat, so we should catch them at least one of those nights. I'm a bit worried about the seaweed situation there, as the entire gulf coast of TX got huge amounts of seaweed drifts and heard that it's pretty stinky over there. Hopefully the clean up crews will work hard and it won't be as bad as the news people are claiming.
Today is also my Friday. We're going up to Syracuse tomorrow and staying until Sunday morning; boating and golfing, along with hitting up a few wineries is the plan. (hot)
Things are great lately, thanks for asking. How are you??
My little Sansa kitty is acclimated to the house and to Chepo and things are going smoothly. I can even leave her out of her room now and it hasn't even been a week yet.
4th Plans - I am running the Firecracker 4 miler race with 2 friends in the morning. From there, we take off our bibs and go directly to the dive bar that sells .50 beers all morning long and get wasted. You get drunk really quickly, lol!! Jer and I are off to his brothers for a party, swimming, and fireworks.

I'm glad things worked out for the better!
We were supposed to go to Port Aransas for Memorial Day, but backed out for other reasons. We were kind of glad we didn't go because BIL said that the beaches were terribly covered in seaweed and smelled horrid. And a FB friend went to the coast last week and it was still terrible. Hopefully since Independence Day is kind of a big deal, they will have done a better job of cleaning it up and removing it from the beach.
I hope the best for the beach, but I'm sure you'll have a good time either way!

We've been doing lots of s'mores in our fire pit this year and we'll be doing them Thurs night... YUM!!! If you like Baileys- try dipping the marshmallow in a cup of Baileys right after you grill it and then make you're s'more. I'm not even a big Baileys person and I thought it was really good.
I am throwing a last minute, very small party Thurs night. We used to do a huge party on the 3rd every year but for a few years it was so hot that a lot of people would cancel last minute and then I'd be stuck with all this food that went to waste so now I'm doing a yearly Oktoberfest party. Now this year its supposed be pretty cool out so go figure.
Friday we are going to the IL's to swim (if it's even warm enough) and then BBQ. Then probably out to my cousins IL's to hang out for awhile.
Saturday we are going swimming at my moms after we work on our current yard project. Sunday I imagine we'll go swimming again if its nice.

I get out at 3 tomorrow and will pick Jau up from work and head to Pr5ovidence to see a Cirque show. From there we'll take separate cars to the Cape. Our original plan was to get on the beach early Friday morning equipped with drinks, shade, clothing, bbq stuff and beer and stay there all night for the fire works. But now the weather might not cooperate, so it is up in the air.
Jay will be staying on Cape until Wednesday because is brother is in from Cali, but I will be coming home late Saturday night. 1- I have no extra vacation days I want to spare and 2, I REALLY want to spend some time in my own bed.

I was off yesterday and got a ton of stuff done around the house!
Today, I am leaving at 2:30 for a dr appointment, and not coming back.
Tomorrow - we are supposed to have people over in the evening for a BBQ, though the RSVP's have been a little low, so we'll see. And getting more stuff done around the house, and hopefully making it to the pool!
