I had some brake issues with my car so I took it in to be looked at. Turns out the caliper was seized and it wasn't safe to drive. All of the repair work was covered under warranty.
Our lawnmower needed some big repairs. DH wanted to trade it in on a newer one. He ended up getting more than he was expecting as a trade-in.
DH has one of those corporate "points" programs where, in addition to this cash bonuses, he gets points to spend things from a catalog. They used to allow us to use it at Lowe's and on travel, which was sweet. But the last year or two it's just been the catalog, and it's mostly appliances/electronics, things we don't need.
DH has been wanting a new bike with gears that is more comfortable than the one he has now, but I've been hesitant because they are pretty pricey and homeboy doesn't ride the bike he has much. So the other night he found one in the catalog that he really wanted! So not only is it "free" but we sold his nearly new bike for $100.
I mentioned this on H&G already, but I found an Amish made DR table and 4 chairs on Craigslist for about the price of just the 4 chairs. It's barely been used and is just gorgeous. Considering shipping had I ordered one custom (as I was preparing myself to do), I probably spent only 1/3 of what a new table/chairs would have been.
The A/C in my car has been working sporadically the last. 6 months and H couldn't figure out why. But I associate broken A/C with $$$$$. He figured out this weekend that it just needs a new relay that is $3, and can fix it before my road trip on Friday in 105 degree heat. Woohoo for not overheating while driving, and saving $$.

Normally I'm the last person on Earth to advocate service contracts or insurance on stuff you buy, but I'm insanely grateful for my cell/smart phone insurance. It's $6 a month.
My cell is my only phone other than my office line ar work and I can't be without a phone. I'm hard on my phone because its always with me. I've wiped out hiking and landed on it, dropped it more times than I care to count, etc. After over 3 years putting up with me, the charging port died for the second time.
If I upgrade through my carrier I'd have to sign a new contract and would lose unlimited data. A plan to cover all I use would be at least $40 a month more. So I priced new phones ($500-700 retail, not how I want to spend that money).
After a couple of phone calls yesterday the insurance processed my claim, and sent me a replacement phone which arrived today for the $99 deductible. It's not the latest model but it will more than meet my needs and is an upgrade from my current phone because they don't make it anymore.

That's awesome. DH needs a new phone too but we've been holding out because he doesn't want a more expensive plan either. He needs to look into his options.

It is worth looking into your options. You might be able to buy a newer model online and just have it activated since so many people MUST upgrade to the newest phone as soon as it comes out.
Small, but we got a letter from our credit card last week telling us to please cash the rewards check they sent in February or call them to have it reissued if we did not have the check. No idea we had an uncashed reward, so DH called last week. Received a $100 check yesterday. Totally found money!
The warranty on my car was up in January. We took it in today because the motor on the rear lift gate was messing up and needed to be replaced. We have a friend who works in the service center and was able to get it covered under warranty. That saved us several hundred dollars and I am very grateful. We will definitely be bringing a thank you gift to our friend.
Mine are small. I finally remembered to check my special AmEx deals to see if the Costco one was there. It wasn't, but they had $20 for $20 for Amazon and I needed to order some things anyway.
We were going to buy soil and the guy who worked there asked what we needed and the offered to give us 2 bags for half off because they had tiny rips in them.

Since DH had to scale down the size of our new garage slightly due to the cost, he has been searching for deals like crazy for shed for the backyard. He was able to score about $600 worth of lumber for free from a friend of his brother and is now building the shed on his own. Instead of paying a few thousand for a shed from the store, we'll only have about $500 into it when it's finished.
We got 2 tickets to go to Oklahoma City for $220 including baggage fees and stretch seating on Frontier. After this I only have 5 states left to visit.
I participated in a marketing study last week regarding refillable drink containers (Tervis, Camelbak, etc.). I talked to this woman for an hour and a half about plastic cups and made $125.
It was 6 weeks since we had to put gas in any of our cars. The only reason it didn't last another week or two was because we went out of town in Sunday. Electric went up about $40 last month but we saved about $300 in gas.
I also got $1200 worth of All Clad copper pans (4 pans) for $268.
As long as there are no last minute issues, we are closing on Saturday with our mortgage re-fi with PenFed. We have to bring $11k to the table, but we are going to be able to finally drop PMI and also lower interest rate by 1.375%. So total savings of $450 a month, and no closing costs under a current PenFed promotion.

I have been trying to transfer my points from AirTran to Southwest without success. It should have been simple and taken five minutes, but it would just not go through. I tried few months ago, and grew so frustrated, I just took the Megabus where I needed to go.
I tried again Monday, and could not do it. It kept saying the transfer failed. I called and got transferred around and around, and finally said I'd call in the morning, because the last place I needed to call was busy and and about to close.
Anyway, I was 0.5 points away of getting a round trip ticket from my AirTran points. When I called today, to see if they could transfer it, they gave me that .5 points I needed, so now I have my round trip ticket. Yay!
I have to say even though it's been a pain in the butt, Southwest's customer service and followup from an initial email (even if months later) have been good.
