How do you manage your clutter? I am looking for advice for everyday papers/bills that cannot be filed away for a while, as well as shoes, bags, and general advice. We are decluttering this week, and I need some HELP!

I hate papers and stuff lying on the counter, so I shred/throw away anything that I don't need as soon as it comes in the house. The bills that need to be dealt with get put on the fridge.
Purses are stored in an under the bed storage container. Shoes are on one of those storage things.
I hate random stuff so I'll sell toss or donate anything I don't need,

I'm sad. I typed out a response with PIPs and everything and accidentally hit the back button... Let's try again.
For bills/papers you need to keep handy, look into one of these:
If you don't have one, I would look into a filing cabinet/drawer that is easily accessible to keep recent bills and important docs in. That way you don't have to go digging every time you need something.
Shoes: For the shoes I wear occasionally, I use a three-drawer plastic thing that I keep in another closet. For shoes that I wear more frequently I use something like this:
We are currently considering a closet redo with one of those adjustable closet systems to better utilize the space. And I'm kind of excited...
I sort the mail immediately and recycle anything I don't need (which is like 90% of it). Anything that needs a response goes in a basket right by the front door so I don't forget about it.
I have a wooden shoe rack (similar to the one sapphire posted) right by the door where G's shoes and my purse go. Extra purses I hang in the spare bedroom closet.
I'm really annoyed by clutter of any kind, so I'm pretty anal about putting things away immediately. If I let things pile up it's so much harder to deal with.
We have two very annoying gathering places: on top of our dresser and on the corner of our kitchen counter. I did buy a mail sorter, which helps, but to tell you the truth, buying a 2 drawer filing cabinet solved the problem. The issue is just getting it all in there and organized.

Ditto. Just reading the title of this post had me all panicked feeling.

I bought a shoe carousel that has interior section for tall boots but I use that part for purses. I love my new shoe organizer, it still makes me happy even a month later.
I need help with my paper organization. I have piles, I know what they are, I discard when necessary, but it does not look "clean". I call it "disorganized organization" because I can tell you exactly where something is, even if that something doesn't necessarily have a particular place it belongs. I'm working on it, but I come from a VERY clutter-prone family.
I try and deal with it when it happens, since clutter makes me grouchy, but there are weeks when we are so busy it just happens. Usually I go on a cleaning rampage/rage and get rid of everything and put it in its place. I try though to deal with it daily. Take 10 minutes before I go to bed and tidy up and place things in the proper place, since 10 minutes doesn't seem like a long time, but I can get a lot done in that time!

We have a basket with hooks underneath it by the front door. The basket holds stuff that needs to be taken care of, and once it is, it goes downstairs to the office and gets filed away. The hooks hold our keys. For shoes, we keep them on the stairs leading upstairs right now, and it honestly bugs the hell out of me. But we need to find a solution that actually works, instead of just settling on something. I keep my purse in the front of the front closet, and my work computer also goes there, when I bring it home.

I keep shoes in a basket by the front door. It works well. Ross and TJ Maxx have cheap baskets that look nice.

That makes me feel a little bit better. Everybody's saying how clutter drives them crazy. If they came into my house, they would probably have a panic attack! It's only slightly cluttered compared to mine and H's families.

My clutter has been cut way down since I moved into my own place. I think it's mostly that all the storage is mine, so everything has its place. Also, paperless bills and the fact that most of my junk mail stopped when I moved helped. I put important shit in a desk drawer.

this is the one I bought, mostly because I was ordering some other things from my local Avon peddler. If you don't already know someone who sells it, I can direct you to her store page, but I think you don't have to go through a rep. Not sure, but I love this thing more than the makeup I bought with it, LOL. Its perfect if you have space to hang it in a walk in closet.

I hate mail/paper clutter so I sort the mail as soon as I bring it in. Sometimes I throw it in the recycle bin before I even take it in the house. We have a basket on the counter where I put bills or things that need attention, and a two-drawer file cabinet in a closet for filing things that we keep.
We have a shoe and coat rack near our door as well as some bins for flip-flops, work out gear, dog stuff, etc. I hang my purse on the coat rack and keep extra purses in my closet.
