Also noticed the board is slow. I've been either ridiculously busy at work (thus no time to post, or do anything more than just liking an OOTD). And on my days off, I've mostly been in workout clothes or super casual boring stuff. The few times I've worn a cute outfit, I keep forgetting to take a picture! I even did the challenge this past Wednesday, but there is no pictorial proof.
I have RBF too, so I feel like I'm being extra cheesey by smiling for OOTD photos, but I do smile in order to counteract RBF.
I dislike oreos too. I will eat the golden ones, and I like cookies and cream ice cream, but original oreos? Blech.
Agreed on the short pants and hiding purchases from DH.
I should have read all the way through before posting.
We should just have like one day a month where we post outtakes. I always look drunk and blurry. :^)
At least most of you are capable of taking a selfie. Mine are so bad that I make DH take my photo. He sometimes will make me do something silly, so I would still be able to post some outtakes. And yes, he does find the fact that I am making him take my photo so I can post my outfit on a message board very strange.
I hate wearing lipstick. Hate it. Hate how it looks on me. Hate how it feels. Hate how it lasts 30 seconds before I have to reapply. I wish I liked it though. It seems to look good on everyone else. But I'll just stick to my Burt's Chapstick

I'm weird about lipstick too. I'm super picky about how it feels. I usually just stick to a lip stain with gloss over top. I have like 2 lipsticks, 1 Chanel and 1 Lancôme that I actually enjoy wearing, but other than that, I'm a gloss girl. That's not to say I don't have several more lipsticks in my desperate attempt to make them work, lol.
We're the opposite. Always feel so much better and more energetic and happy .... after the first week.
This.
I've been low carb for ages. If you have any questions, feel free to page me.
Would you share some of your fav meals and snacks? I'm about to restart too. I also would agree I felt great when doing this and now that I had my thyroid removed due to cancer it appears that lower carb diets are the way to go according to some things I've read to not put on more weight which I've been battling big time.

My snacks typically consist of cheese cubes, pepperoni, and peanut butter for the most part. I also love making jalapeno poppers to snack on.

Same here! I think the closest I've come to a lipstick is one of the Revlon lip butters. I feel like it accentuates every line and crack in my lip. I hate it!

I find that keeping my foods simple helps a lot - eggs, nuts, cheese sticks/cubes, etc.. However, two of my favorite recipe websites are Linda's Low Carb Recipes and All Day I Dream About Food. Linda's has a ton of recipes, and she rates all of them at the bottom of the recipe. She is honest about recipes that don't work, and I find her ratings to be pretty accurate. ADIDAF recipes are almost always guaranteed to be good. I make a lot of my "sweets" from ADIDAF and 98% of them are really good. I've really only had one clunker from her site that I can recall.
One of my favorite snacks to keep around is Almond Flax Seed Crackers. If you need almond flour, order it from Honeyville. It is not cheap, and I'm seriously pissed they jacked up their prices, but it's the best quality out there by a mile.

Just giving you a virtual hug. I'm in the same boat with the cancer/thyroid removal/battling weight now. Low-carb really does help- just pack meals and snacks with protein, healthy fat, veggies. I keep my fruit portions small because I find they make me feel uncomfortably full if I eat too much. I definitely feel much better when I am following low-carb religiously.
This is a great thread for S&B! I do love the low drama here and thinks most of the girls who consider this their home board do to. I'm trying to understand why someone would GBCN/GBCN because someone said she wears short pants. I'll bet she's somewhere wearing pants at a better length due to those comments! (FWIW I have no idea if her pants were too short).
Confession: I spend an absolutely ridiculous amount of money on makeup and beauty supplies but then balk at buying something cheap like a cardigan on sale at Target for $15 (why I passed that up today I don't know). That doesn't always happen but happens enough.

Me three on the thyroid removal/cancer/weight gain issue. My weight has done much better being pregnant than the year before. I'm hoping after the baby my body will continue to function better.

Another thyroid wierdo checking in! I haven't had mine removed but I get it ultra sounded severe 6 months because my risk is super high. I've been thinking about asking my doc to just get rid of it completely because it swells and makes my neck look sooooooo weird.
I haven't been OOTD posting because I have no where to take a good pic and I have basically abandoned laundry so everything I've been wearing is either super old or my boring work outfits.
I love S&B but ML is super scary. The TIP ladies are the best though. If you need a little extra snark but don't want to deal with the crazy of ML you should visit us over there!

The only lipstick I can wear is Revlon Lip Butters, I have big lips so they're forever dry and lipstick is even more drying.

We should start a style and beauty thyroid cancer survivor, my body is all f-ed up and doesn't work like any body else's club.

smo- That is so strange to me? Really? I know 30 seconds is probably an exaggeration but most of mine last until I eat, and some through that. Chapstick is what seems fast wearing. It absorbs fast and then I'm like, I have nothing on my lips! (cue panic mode, lol)
