Everyone must have one/some. What are the things around your house that will just never get done? Either b/c it's super low priority, a PITA, NBD, etc. This is probably in the same spirit as my "good enough" post a while back.
1) I bought two decent lamps for our bedside tables. One day the switch on mine stopped "catching" and just spins. It broke on the "on" position. So I just leave the lamp unplugged and plug it in once in a while when I need it. I have a feeling I will never fix it and just replace the lamps one day.
2) Also, when I added beadboard backing to our island, I trimmed it out on the sides but there are 2 inch sections on each side that I never finished. It's been on my to-do list for ~2 years now....
On an un-related note - I discovered a nice benefit to having a hallway w/painted stripes -- if I get a really bad knick on the wall, I can patch and paint a single stripe w/o leaving an unmatching painted patch.
We removed the shoe moulding from the master bedroom last year before we had the floors refinished. Most of it didn't come off so easily, so we just bought all new with the intention of replacing it. Yeah, that still hasn't happened. MH told me a few months ago that he actually forgot about it which I find bizarre because you can obviously tell that it's missing if you look down (painted base moulding and then wood color where the shoe moulding went).

We lost a couple little pieces of trim when we put in our new floors. I'm talking like 3 inch chucks that go inside closets. Yep, it's been a couple years still haven't fix it.
I have a feeling our never-get-fixed items will be our interior doors. They're the originals from 1954 and are in really rough shape. It would be nice to just sand, fill, and restain, but they're hollow.
We have been laughing about how our never got done list just got dramatically shorter over the last weekend as we prepped for selling. The biggest was that the wood front door has had no finish since we before we bought it in 2011. We finally got it painted last weekend.
The only one left is that the left door of the kitchen sink cabinet will not stay closed. I've tried adjusting the hinges, but it insists on falling open about an inch.

We have a closet light (the kind with the pull string) stuck in the on position that I should REALLY take apart or replace. But right now the bulb is just in it loosely so it doesn't glow. when it broke we were so overwhelmed with other larger issues that it was ignored.
A week ago I would have answered our kitchen faucet that leaked at the base of the faucet when the water was on. We ignored it for 2.5 years. But when the dishwasher broke it seemed like a good time to buy a faucet too. So I replaced that just this past Saturday. So what I am saying is there is hope for your tasks left undone! (also love my new dishwasher!)

Oh, we have hundreds. All of our projects *almost* get finished. LOL But we're aware of this and I think while I'm in OH, R might work on a few of them.
Currently, we need to finish/trim the upstairs flooring, reattach the trim moulding in the downstairs laundry room, and touch up/repaint some of our kitchen cabinets. We've also got two burnt out fluorescent bulbs in our kitchen, but R doesn't want to fix that because it means moving/dealing with those crazy fragile light diffuser panels.

OMG - all the recent listing photo posts had me skeered. I don't think we'll ever sell b/c there's so much store we'd have to fix.
We also have a former shade garden in the back corner of our lot that has been completely taken over by weeds.
Count us in the shoe/quarter round slacker group. Half the quarter round in our kitching is just resting in place (I hate knocking it out of place when I vacuum). I have a nail gun & air compressor but never got around to using them to tack it in place.
I'm pretty sure we'll never do anything with the garage. It's mostly cinderblock, built in 1960, newish roof in the past 5-8 years. The windows are original and at least 1 is cracked, but why do I really care? Maybe we'll powerwash the exterior next year. Oh, and the garage door only works with the opener, there is no release spring, so if the power is out, we would have to climb in through the window. This is very, very far down on our list of priorities.
Our attic ladder is actually too long (10 feet, cut down to 9 feet, instead of 8 feet). Because it was cut down, we need to put rubber or something on the bottom to keep it from nicking the floor, but for now, we just put a towel down when we open it. Also, the pull cord is like... a piece of coated wire? I don't know, but it would be nice to have something better looking. Lol, good luck, self, actually getting around to that.

The pedestal sink installed over a year ago still has a shim between the sink and base that sticks out. Up until last weekend the toilet that was installed at the same time had a slow leak.
Lets see- of the projects we've done so far: Putting a layer of calk around the downstairs shower (we don't use that shower so it's not priority) Adding some missing trim by a closet door Tightening a handrail (it's never used) Adding some paint in the bedroom closets - we ran out and only 1/2 of the bedroom closet got done Staining the inside of the fence (our side of the yard) - fence was installed 2 years ago and last year we stained the outsides facing our neighboors.

We still haven't:
- finished putting in the baseboard in our finished basement - it was finished in 2012. - finished putting in the counter tops in our finished basement. - painted the baseboard in the living room & hall way - we had the floor refinished in 2011 and should have replaced the baseboard then, but cheaped out. - replaced the light fixture in the kitchen - we bought one but haven't gotten around to putting it up yet. - fixed the electrical interruption that's causing us to go without light in the stairwell or functioning electrical outlets in the garage. - finished staining one small section of the deck. - put up the curtains in the living room - repainted the kitchen from when we put in the slider (new drywall to fill in where the old window was) - fixed the basement 1/2 bath toilet (it was running non stop, so we bought a new flapper for it, but then discovered when we went to fix it that it's a REALLY old toilet & a flapper alone wasn't going to do the trick. turned off the water & haven't turned it on yet) - fixed the light fixture in the laundry room that broke
And I'm sure there are a bunch of other things I'm forgetting...
I have a pair of white painted bookcases in my living room that I sanded and repainted. It took me years between doing the first one and the 2nd one. I did the 2nd one this spring, but I never did the doors for either one. So now I have two bookcases like this one:
flanking the piano. They both have their doors off the bottom section -- you can actually see them sitting IN the bottom section of the one. They're sanded, but not to my satisfaction, and not primed or painted.
When I (finally) painted the 2nd bookcase this spring (haven't taken pics since then), I bought new hinges & pulls for both sets, since the old ones have paint all over them. Fat lotta good it did in terms of motivating me. For some reason I've just hated doing this bookcase project (even though I like them finished) and have dragged my feet.
It has not helped that since the 2nd bookcase I've painted our new front door and a TON of trim in the house. I'm on painting burn-out mode right now.

I'm in need of a DW, can you share what one you got?

I dealt with this on a couple cabinets doors in our rental. I put these magnet latch things on them to hold them shut.

Touching up molding in the basement, which would take maybe 2 hours. Painting the laundry room door (to be fair this was replaced about 6 weeks ago and came primed) Power-washing the exterior of the house Getting estimates for a fence Putting up curtains and/or blinds in one of the bedrooms Painting the dining room (which would require moving all of my china out of the hutch, what a PITA)
I was in extreme nesting mode from 24-28w or so, and my motivation has totally fizzled out.
I was just going to post the same thing. I feel ya!
We just aren't really as handy as I wish/hoped we'd be. And after the bathroom tub surround project that took TWO YEARS, I lost all hope.
Specific - patching up the bad joins in the crown moulding in the LR especially, they're separated and bug me a lot. Getting a chandelier repaired (have to find a welder, one of the arms broke) so that we can swap out the ugly/boring one that came in the dining room when we bought the house for something cuter.
We have had so much work done since we moved in, but we let the contractor go before they completed the punch list, so we have some paint touch up and trim in the hall to complete, as well as the exterior trim that they couldn't figure out on the new window for the studio.
Our own unfinished projects are 1)finishing the faux beam project (we need to touch up a couple of chips that happened during installation, 2)make wood cornice boards to hide the blind rollers for the remaining windows in the living and paint them, and 3)put in the new light switches in the living room and hall since there are no covers on right now), and 4)trim out the laundry closet and install shelving in it.
We have a huge list of unstarted projects, but I am sure once we start them there will be more to add to the unfinished list.lol

Yeah, it's a mix of the bolded, never having enough time, and shitty work by previous owners that keeps falling apart. The latest thing that bugs the hell out of me is drywall tape bubbling (previous owners' work).
There are pretty much to many repairs/improvements to list. The bedrooms are in the best shape of all the rooms, I think, but the living room, kitchen, and bathroom drive me batty. Not to mention the fact that we had major unknown structural damage that had to be repaired, which means that the money we thought we'd spend renovating went to those repairs, so we're still living with crappy paneling and a carpeted bathroom AND kitchen. I could go on and on.
