The chef invited me over just to see the place and suggested we go out after. I get why now-his room is so small his bed touches three walls. It's about the size of my master bathroom and I get the sense he's never there (he works over 50 hrs a week at the restaurant, takes on double shifts when he needs to). The size didn't bother me at all but maybe he was embarassed. The shared living area wasn't bad at all, was just kind of plain and not homey looking. So, no wife banging around in the attic, not a disgusting wreck, just small and kind of bland.

I don't know if our personalities will work log term (he's quiet, hard to read, relaxed, I'm anxious and chatty and emotional) but for now I'm mostly enjoying my time with him. The kids will likely not be introduced to him as I don't see long term here, but maybe he'll surprise me and open up more as time goes on, and I can reevaluate then.
