Range advice needed! We are considering either a KitchenAid or GE Monogram, and aren't sure which to go with. I don't really know the differences between the two, so I don't know how to decide. If you have experience with a 48" dual fuel range - please chime in!

I'm not a big fan of GE. I don't have experience with the 48 in Kitchenaid, but in our old house we did buy a Kitchenaid gas stove and it was fantastic! I was so sad to have to leave it behind, but our new house has wall ovens and a cooktop, so it wouldn't have worked here anyways. I was very impressed with the kitchenaid, though.

I bought a KitchenAid 48" dual fuel back in 2007. It had 2 equal sized ovens. The gas range was fantastic. The ovens took at least 30 minutes to preheat, even just regular bake. I eventually would turn the broiler on to speed things up. It baked evenly, there weren't any hot spots, but it's so frustrating to wait so long. It's not a huge deal to preheat while prepping something, but it's ridiculous for a frozen pizza to take an hour. Also, I didn't love the equal sized ovens. I'd prefer a larger and a smaller. I had a tight fit with my large sheet pans (I bake a lot, and did some wedding cakes- couldn't fit my 18" cake pan in).
My mom has thermador ovens, and I'm not thrilled with them either.
What is the point of duel fuel? I haven't missed cooking with electricity once since moving into a home with gas 18 months ago.
Gas ovens suck. They are slow to heat and you can't properly cook done things (mainly breads) in them. We had both gas and now have a gas stove and electric double ovens. The electric ovens are fabulous.

I agree, I prefer an electric oven. Even the one from 1960 that is too small for my roasting pan. Someday it will be replaced (and the stupid electric cooktop) with a 48 inch duel fuel range.
If I was going to buy a 48" dual fuel range it would be a Wolf. No question.
What do you see as the benefit to Wolf? Personally, I don't want to spend the extra money but I'd love to know more about it.
From what I understand, it's just a matter of resale/name brand. I haven't seen anything to indicate that the performance is significantly different for the average home user. Then again, people "know" Wolf and it can be a selling point potentially if you decide to sell your house. Have you looked at DCS? Those are pretty popular, too.
