DD has been super into butterflies lately, so probably that. This reminds me that this is the year I said I'd start being crafty and making her costumes, I suppose I should start thinking about this stuff so I'm not frantically sewing on 10/30, so thanks for this post!
Whatever DH chooses. He called Halloween very early on in the pregnancy. I wanted to buy some clearance costume last year and DH said absolutely not, that he was so excited to finally have a kid and was looking forward to taking him to the costume shop and letting him choose a costume. Dude, DS will be 7 months old. Good luck with that!!
I bought clearance monkey and lightning McQueen race car driver costumes, but I have a feeling we're in the "not gonna do it" stage. We'll see by October.
Oooooo! I'll have a newborn! Maybe she can be a banana!
I really want to get coordinating costumes for DD and our dog. (yeah, I know). If she was a boy, she would have been a firefigther and our yellow lab would be a dalmation. I also saw a circus lion tamer costume, and then our dog would be the lion, but I think we'll save that for when she is older. I need ideas for a 6 month old!

DS1 has said that he wants to be a brachiosaurus. We'll see when September rolls around, but I already bought some pool noodles to use as neck and tail structure, if I have to make one. I have no ideas for DS2.

A firefighter sounds cute! I went to high school with a girl who is a firefighter.

My SIL gave me a dinosaur costume at a baby shower we had in December 2013. So I guess that?? I feel weird that I don't get to pick his first outfit but I feel guilty not using something that was giving to me.
I bought a James the train ( or maybe it's Percy? I don't remember) a Nemo & a Mickey Mouse last year after Halloween when they were basically 70 percent off. I'll let him pick one & sell the other two ( or give then to my cousins kids)
Last year she was a sock monkey. This year I have no idea. Carters always has adorable costumes. I'll have to compromise though - DH is like, let's dress her up as Bane! WTF, NO!
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

Last year, we were the wild Kratts. M will probably have opinions about his costume this year, although when I just asked him he said macaroni. Lol. Currently A wants to be a peacock, but now we are arguing about the sex of peacocks vs. peahens and which has the beautiful feathers. It is tragic. Now she is saying "actually, I want to be a cat".
rondonalddo @punky soozy87 need to team the kids up for trick or treating! Mario, toad and a mushroom!
Love!!!
ETA - any takers on Yoshi? Princess?
rondonalddo - what did you use for DS's costume? So far, I have a red hat (need an M for it) and overalls. Did you give him any props?
@pnkybrwstr I don't have a costume for my kid yet because she's 3 and will probably change her mind by October. I think she was inspired by some puffballs out in our yard, but a Mario mushroom would be super cute. I would imagine it would be easy enough to make the hat and then use black face paint to make the big eyes. Maybe add a t-shirt that says "1UP."

DS1 is maybe still young enough not to care about his costume, I'm hoping I can get away with matching sibling costumes. Of course DS2 will only be a couple weeks old so chances are good we might scrap the whole holiday out of sleep deprived apathy.
