It's too bad the Nebraska Furniture Mart isn't open in TX yet, b/c working with them has been a dream. The furniture for the baby's room were supposed to be delivered yesterday, and 2 of the pieces were damaged. Unfortunately, one of the pieces has been discontinued, and we've already been refunded for it. The other piece is going to be on its way to us on the 16th.
I think they deliver nationwide, for a price. One time we were there and a senator was shopping with his wife. The salesman told us "we deliver to D.C. All the time ". Sure you do!
Pom Maybe it's time to enlist your local consumer affairs reporter? Nothing gets a response faster than TV cameras!
Yes, they do deliver nationwide. I'm in NJ, and ordered at the store during the BH shareholders weekend
Give Mr. Todd Wanek a quick call at 608-323-2270. He's the CEO. FirstInitialLastName@ashleyfurniture.com
boiler717 recently had luck resolving a Pottery Barn issue by contacting the CEO and I have done it in the past with stellar results as well.
I tried this again to Mr. Todd. Still didn't work. I need to call the CEO but I need to call Verizon first to up my minutes. And I hate them too.
Oh God, I just broke down crying with to the Verizon lady after she told me she couldn't back date new plan and/or add minutes for my current plan. She then gave me 150 bonus minutes. Fuck, now I can't hate VZ for a while.
I don't post much but I wanted to wish you well. I am in the market for furniture too and won't even qconsider these people! I found the email address of the chairman (Todd's dad) Ron. mailto:rwanek@ashleyfurniture.com. Maybe worth a try? Best of luck!!
I had a problem with them a couple years back and they fixed it. I have been looking for the person with whom I worked, but I haven't been able to dig up their info yet. If I find it I will pass it along though!
I haven't done twitter yet, since I need Twitter for dummies. I have posted all over facebook.
I just called corporate in Wisconsin. Consumer Affairs. They wouldn't but me through to the CEO or CFO. Consumer affairs lady didn't seem very concerned either. They are independently owned. You know, because I hadn't been told that before. :?
I am now contacting the CEO of the local corp that owns the AFHS franchise here on Linked In. His assistant hasn't bothered to call back. I think it's a theme.
This is what I sent via LinkedIn to the local CEO
Re: Sofa Purchase, May 26th
You know what? All of the horrid issues and terrible customer service we've experienced with your San Antonio store and "Customer Care" won't ever fit in this box. If you care to hear about it and be part of the solution, I encourage you to contact me.
If this was my organization, I'd want to know about it.
Forward to your Attorney General first; when I filed a complaint my state attorney general's office and dept of commerce, they told me that if you contact the BBB first, they cannot do anything.
When I had issues with Pottery Barn, attempts to work with the store manager and FB/Twitter were unsuccessful.
I emailed the CEO and very brief email of my main points of concern. 30 min later a VP called and the whole issue was resolved in a few hours with a mega discount. I highly recommend it!

Ashley Furniture Corporate in Wisconsin has no interest in the matter. I spoke to the receptionist who refused to connect me to the CEO, CFO. She put me through to Consumer Affairs who says that they have nothing to do with independently owned stores. I tried all of the e-mails suggested here for corporate CEOs, the owner, etc...they were all returned un-deliverable. The one e-mail that made it through said again the independently owned thing, not their problem.
I did track down the holding company that owns the stores here in San Antonio. I found out the CEO's name and office number. They would not connect me to him and made me leave a message for his assistant. She has not called back. I then tracked him down on LinkedIn and sent him a message. I just filled out the complaint form on BBB. So far, nothing has happened. We contacted them on Tuesday and they've had all week to fix this at the local customer care center. It doesn't look good.

We have always bought our stuff there. No more. This is just fuckery at its worst.
ETA: We are in the market right now for a new king mattress set, a queen box spring, a new sofa/loveseat, and two recliners. That business will not be going to Ashley.

Solidarity sister! Thanks for the support. I don't want this to happen to other people.

I will never step foot in another of those stores. I had trouble trying to give them business and instead drove 45 min each way to Ikea for a desk. Worth it!
I refused to shop at Ashley on principle when we were furniture shopping for our house. I did however make the mistake of buying something from a Bassett store because we'd bought Bassett bedroom furniture via JCP Home Store and had no problems. Buying from Bassett was nothing but problems and I still don't like and still have problems with the table we paid $3000 for. So I'll toss that in for future reference if you're furniture shopping and considering dealing with them. You'll get the same kind of response.

Pom do you have a local news station that does some sort of consumer segment? I think that would be my next call.
I am working on that as our very next stop. I just e-mailed the CEO and VP of stores. If that doesn't get a response on Monday morning, I am calling the news. I will be going to the head quarters where the CEO/VP office on Tuesday/Wednesday if I have to and sit there until I get this attended to.
I think your letter is fine. We get long letters all the time as complaints and we still rescue them
Did you mail the letter? Snail mail? Better than nothing. Make a few copies and send to managers and CEO
I will never shop there after this story. Too scary.
What about tweeting with bill and Giuliana?
Thanks, I did end up shortening it up to just the facts. This rough draft was written when I was really fired up, LOL. I e-mailed, put some of it on Facebook, filed with the BBB. Someone for the local holding company/corporate called me Saturday morning. We will see if it gets resolved now.
