TL;DR I'm dumb, stabbed my ear hole really hard, weird fluid, did I break my ear?
Ok so ill just put this here and maybe someone can offer input.
So like a week ago I was cleaning out my ears with a qtip (yes I know this is bad but I'm generally really careful)
I had just gotten out of the shower and my (matching) hair towel started to fall so I went to catch it very spastically with my other hand. When I swung my hand up I hit the q-tip hand really hard and it jabbed the q-tip deep in my ear.
There was immediate pain and I pulled the q-tip out and there wasn't blood on it but there was an odd fluid (not like shower water or conditioner or soap) on it. Gross I know.
So it hurt like a mother fucker and it felt like there was a bunch of fluid in my ear. I held a towel up to my ear and tilted my head because I was a million % sure there was gonna be blood pouring out of my head because of course my first thought was "holy mother fucking cock fucks I just punctured my ear drum "
There was never blood but I did continue to get weird fluid leaky weirdness happening. And pain lots of hurt. But since there wasn't blood I figured that I just jabbed like a deep part of my ear and maybe bruised it.
Well it still hurts like a fucker and the pain is now like the whole area around my ear and towards my jaw/cheek area and it sounds swishy/muffled
Can you puncture your eardrum with out blood? Did I break my ear? I really don't want to go back to the dr. So any "this isn't medical advice" advice?
When my daughter ruptured hers we didn't have to do anything, but I am concerned that maybe there's a secondary infection going on. I'd probably make appointment to be seen. Sorry.
Damnit.
Ps I totally butchered your name in the original title. All the apologies.

I agree with chile. There's not a lot to be done for a ruptured eardrum, but it should be watched for infection. And to make sure that it does in fact get better.
I think we need to make a list of who gets tagged for what. Alzi always gets ears, Cheshire gets should I go to the ER questions, me or chile can get babies and uteruses (uteri?). lol I know there are so many more....
And sorry about your ear, dude. That sucks. I hate the muffled swishy sound, it makes me crazy and oddly claustrophobic.

This is super helpful. I had originally posted this to Cheshire and chile because they had been here late.
Like everyone's siggy should be like "unofficial advice giver of tax laws" or whatever lol.
I can't even see siggys because I'm on my phone, I should start using my tablet.

Oh god please don't page me every time someone wants to know if they should go to the ER. Lol

But there are a lot of sinus infections around here!
