I'm getting snacks for a big group of kids ages 5 to 10. About 50 cents per kid per snack time. I thought I'd supplement my usual standards with your good ideas :-)
My girls love the Doc McStuffins muffins. Easy to make, and pretty filling. I can never find a written copy of the recipe, but you can google for the video/commerical.
This might be really lazy, but DD1 requested popcorn for her class birthday party (I did also make them cupcakes). That was a huge hit. The kids asked for seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths. Just plain, lightly salted popcorn.

I would do something like popcorn or veggie straws or pretzels,, fruit skewers and cheese cubes. I think most kids could find something to eat out of those.
Honestly, I love those Gogurts (the "simple" kind with no HFCS or artificial colors), little horizon boxes of milk, cheese sticks, coconut water boxes. Those are my only easy grab snacks. Everything else I buy and put in individual snack sized baggies.
I'm too lazy for those for 40. The kids are stuck with seaweed.
Costco carries a large pack of seaweed for about $8. I also get the Food Should Taste Good multi-grain chips there. They are really good, healthy and gluten free. A large bag is about $6. Not sure if you're a Costco shopper, but that's where we get ALL of David's snacks. They are healthy and cheap.

That's my plan. I'm heading out in an hour (armed with all the good ideas).
