I feel silly asking this question, but it's been something that I think about when packing for vacation.
When we go on vacation, we tend to go when it is warm, and we love to sightsee. Warm + sightseeing/walking around all day = sweaty
We put on fresh clothes in the morning and head out (sightseeing), and then normally come home around 3/4pm. We like to shower again and rest for an hour or so before heading out for dinner/night out.
Do you put on the same bra after your mid-afternoon shower? If so, how many bras do you normally pack for a 1 week vacation (where you will be sweating since you'll be walking everywhere) and do want to shower late afternoon before heading out for the night?

Normally 2, regardless of the length of the vacation. Sometimes also a sports bra if I'll be doing something that'll make that more comfortable, and sometimes a 3rd bra if we're going somewhere really warm/humid.
I don't sweat that much though, and am normally happy to wear the same bra several days in a row without washing.
I usually plan to wear a bra 3-4 times without washing it. If it's a hot, sweaty trip I'll cut that down to 2-3. So for a week, I'd probably wear one, pack 2 or 3. Probably 2 regular and one strapless. And no cotton in warm temps.
I usually pack two for a trip 1 week or longer. I also wash bras and underwear - I either use soap or pack a travel-size bottle of detergent and hang dry. If we're doing active or outdoorsy things, I wear a sports bra and wash it at night.

I don't see how travel enters the equation. How many bras would you wear in any given weak that involves sweaty activities? Unless you have limited luggage space, you should proceed as usual with your bra rotation.
I probably pack 4 or 5, rotate between them. I love pretty bras and always want to wear something different. I will also wash them if need be with shampoo in the sink if need be.

It usually depends on what types of clothes I've packed. Typically I'll bring 2 and wash in the sink at some point. If I need strapless or convertible straps, I'll add another as necessary. Probably not ever more than 3.
Yeah, two or three and some extra straps, I don't know how I manage to lose them so often (3 pairs lost forever in NYC). If something goes wrong, I can just buy a cheap one from any of the stores around the hotel, but I'm a pretty usual size, so I don't recommend my strategy.

I like the idea of having some sports bras on some days. Unfortunately, my bras are lightly padded (need the shape) so I don't know if it will dry that quickly

I'm an overpacker, I know it.
I just went to Greece for two weeks. Knowing I'd have access to a washer/dryer but not how often, I packed about 7 bras. As long as I have at least one left at home for my first day back, I'll take whatever fits in the suitcase.

I used to pack 3-4, but I'd get sweaty from sightseeing (granted, this is for a 2-week international trip usually in a warmer climate), and I can't put on a sweaty bra after my mid-afternoon shower... but then I ran out of bras. I also have light padding so it doesn't really dry quickly either.
