My Grandpa & Grandma are moving into a retirement community and downsizing. She asked for my help selling some stuff on the local Denver Craigslist and I don't have any idea what it goes for. Or, if some of this is worth selling at all.
First, the dining set - "Drexel Vintage Cherry" that I assume is from 1980 given the stamp on the bottom of one of the chairs. Has 5 or 6 (not sure) chairs which do need reupholstering, 2 leaves of different widths. Table is in really good condition.
ETA: I should add... from what I saw of cherry sets on the local CL, I would put it at $200 but my aunt insists it would go for $7-800. I figured a higher-end brand might but not this. Am I wrong?

Next: Some kind of Polynesian tapestry. They lived in Hawaii but Grandpa was all over the Pacific between 1946-1975 and she doesn't remember where it came from. It's not fabric though - it's made from something more brittle. It's big - the length of the bed and then some, but has been stored loosely rolled for years. It has some small cracks in the material.
Also she has this table of unknown origin. Kinda cute (NMS) but not in the best shape. Also unknown origin.

I like the idea for the dining set. DH actually looked at the little table and said he wished we had somewhere to put it. ^o) I never thought he'd be drawn to mosaic hearts.
I think the tapestry might be a hard sell because no one is probably looking for something like that. Common household stuff (like the dining set) go much better.
Dining set - $200-$250 You could try starting higher if price is more important than time and see if it goes and repost with a lower price later if needed. $800 is way too high though. Your Aunt needs to realize this isn't retail. It's used furniture that has already put in 30 years of service. Someone has to come to your home and arrange to pick it up, bring cash, etc. It's kind of a PITA and getting a deal is why people do it. Short answer: your aunt is being insane about this.
Tapestry- google/check ebay to see if you can find anything similar and what they go for. Otherwise I'd probably try to take good pictures and put it for cheap.
I have a similar dining room set. I could walk into any local furniture consignment shop and find one just like it. I would think $250-$300. But maybe stalk your local CL to see what people are asking in your immediate area. Drexel is a respectable brand, but not collectible as Homer of IN, Stickley or some others would be. Redoing the seats is no biggie- I do mine every couple of years.
