Two hour vet apt with our cat and dog. Kitten is great, dog has some back nerve damage and urinary incontenence caused by that. Poor thing is getting old and we are just keeping him comfortable.
Dd got a rockin new hair cut
Went to our annual hoa meeting potluck lunch and was a slacker and brought store cookies as my contribution.
Michaels, petsmart, groceries, gas.
Exausting. we have a house showing tomorrow so now I get to clean all night.
OMG I just want my kid to play independently for two minutes. I am so touched out right now.
H and I had an argument over dinner because I think he is crazy overprotective when it comes to food and it undermines me. Example: I give C a bowl of sliced strawberries. H takes the bowl away and passes C one at a time across the table. FWIW he is a great eater with a full mouth of teeth and has never choked seriously. I think it's more important he learn to pace himself on his own at this point, and he does a good job of it. H is just super paranoid about food and choking. Ugh.

I feel ya. At least in 2 or years c will have a great playmate. I hope ours aren't so far apart they they never play.
Last night I had dds friend and her sister over. The mom was shocked I would have them both over to play. It was blissful. 4 hours of playmates with me not being one them. I am usually her bf, and while that is great I really enjoyed lounging on the recliner listening to her play with someone else.

Ds has been a joy today. No tantrums, quickly obeying requests, happily doing whatever we planned (which included the zoo, a restaurant and a playground so of course he cooperated ;-) ). He even happily walked up to his room for his nap and again at bedtime.
The three of us enjoyed a nice anniversary supper at a family restaurant, and ds was introduced to the amazing thing that is apple wedges dipped in caramel.
Dh is currently putting ds to bed then we're going to find a random movie on Netflix, eat popcorn and if he plays his cards right dh might even get lucky. Haha.
I apologize for talking about the new house so much, but we are SO EXCITED to get out of the crapshack. House-buying process is moving along! Home inspection is on Monday. I don't think they'll find anything, the house is well maintained (hopefully). The inspector will probably say the roof is old, but we knew that.

I hear you. I swear dh wishes it was still socially acceptable to puree all ds's food. If he notices ds even once gag a bit on a bite of a large food item (say a chicken strip) he immediately cuts the entire thing up into teeny tiny pieces that ds then won't eat (because he likes to take bites, not eat individual bites). Soooo annoying.
gibbinator that sounds like a terrific day, I'm jealous!
DS has been cranky all night b/c his nap was short. When I went upstairs to get him from his nap, DS was adamant that the rooster woke him up. He said "a-doodle-do no sleep." I think getting rid of the rooster will have some benefits!
Brie your story reminds me of when I was cutting up melon for E and she proceeded to grab a chunk from the bowl, shove it in, and swallow no problem. Excuse me kid!
I need to find new cabinet hardware for our half bath. Nothing at the store worked for me. Also I'm not 100% on the towel bar we bought.
I think MIL is upset with us, the last two weekends she's hardly talked to dh on the phone and when she does she just talks about all the fun stuff she's doing with her other grandkids, not asking any questions about DD or what we're doing. Then she hands the phone off to FIL.
maybe she's peeved we didn't come out for the 4th but last summer it was not a fun trip and we weren't about to repeat that so I signed up to work. Probably won't see them til thanksgiving

Just boarded my final flight back home! DH and I had a great trip, and our second child free trip this year (not counting in-utero ). The kids seem to have been happily spoiled by grandmas and sitter while we've been gone.
DH got upgraded to business for this flight and I didn't. Luckily he has a strong survival instinct and gave my his business seat
We survived AJ's first birthday party! Everything ended up going as well as it could have and AJ was a delightful ball of sunshine. Thanks to yellowbrkrd for the inspiration on the "1" picture idea (that was you that did that, right?), it turned out great!

That's the definite upside to having 2 already while pregnant. 90% of the time they entertain each other.
DH and I never got into it about choking, but goodness the grandmas were always trying to take food chunks away from the kids for fear of choking. I generally replied with a glare and "one of us knows the circumference of his/her airway...and it's not you."

Yep, that was me.
Love the cake covered baby!
My sisters and bil helped make that mess but he did pick up his piece of cake to eat it
I never believed my mother when she said there were movies she couldn't bear to watch after becoming a parent. I take it back. We watched The Boy in the Striped Pajamas last night. :-(
Hung out with my Little this morning. It's tough. I like her but, darn, it's hard to know what's appropriate and she really tests me.
C was freaking adorable this afternoom. It rained here earlier, and while outside with H he found a puddle to splash in. I just bought him a cheapie water table, so we filled it for the first time and he mother effing LOVED it. Also, he played the whole time with his bike helmet on, because he thought it seemed like a great idea. Silly ginger.
This has been a great weekend so far. Our 7 yr anniversary is on Monday 7/14. I remember there were a ton of 7/7/07 brides on the knot, and wonder how many are still around on the nest or here.
Meeeee! I was a 7/7/7 bride and was on the knot. It always startles me to realize how long I've been around here. Happy anniversary!

I went to a wedding on 07/07/07 as a plus one. It was at the Beverley Hills Hotel or whatever its called (fancy place). The ceremony was at 11.30am and the reception ended at 3pm because there was another wedding, coming in. It was the only time the couple could get that venue on that date. It was weird.
