Over a splinter! This is mildly embarrassing, but it is really deep and in the bottom of his toe, he is so squirmy at this age that I don't want to botch it. I'm wondering if I will get side eyed by the nurse/doctor.

It takes two of us, a lot of restraining on our behalf and a lot of tears just to cut toe nails here, I'm pretty sure we would be going for a splinter too. I hope they're able to get it out easily.
My father had to go have one removed when we were small. He had to have a tetanus shot because of it but at least he should be up to date there!
Thanks for the well wishes, doc said we were the 3rd toddler with a splinter to come in that day. J did really well and they were so fast so I'm really glad we went.

I had to take G last year when my H was out of town for a week. It took a dr to get it out while a nurse and I held him down, so I felt completely vindicated in taking him in.
Soooo, I always leave them. Figuring they'll work themselves out!
I might have thought about this, but it was a really big splinter and the skin around it was already puffy and red. He never complained about it though, I just found it while clipping his nails.
