And it came back the same day!
I have to pay for our laundry regardless (it's in my basement but costs money) so it's worth it to me to send it out. My H disagrees, but he's been out of commission since Wednesday so I win this battle.
I want laundry service, but I want them to actually come in my house and gather up all my dirty clothes, then wash, dry, fold, then put them all away following a better organizational system than I currently use. Is that too much to ask??

Totally reasonable to me.
If I didn't hate laundry so much, I'd start a business called The Laundry Fairy and do just that. But I really hate laundry.

This would be a great business! I'd totally pay for that!
It's amazing how they can fold it so nice and neat. I can't fold all nice and neat, so virtually everything gets put on a hanger. Shirts are much less wrinkly if I hang them.
I won't cry until you tell me the rent. Then I shall weep and start packing my bags.
If only that would make you guys move...
It's really obscene that we don't get all these amenities. It should be against the law to pay the rents here without at least 2 of the perks you get in almost every single other place than here.
There's some quote that says something like when living in NYC you are stripped of all basic amenities and then they're sold back to you at a ridiculous price. It's so true! Even a dishwasher is considered to be a major amenity.
Move to Jamaica! Our nanny gathers all the family's washing, washes, dries and irons it and places it back in the relevant bedroom. I put it away but that's just because I am type A about how my clothes are organized! And that's just one of the household things she does...
Every time you talk about your household services I die a little inside. That, and coconuts.
