I ran a half in San Diego today that was the roughest I've ever done, mainly due to my own laziness. I hadn't done more than 4 miles at a time since my last one in April, and just lacked the motivation to get out for long runs. The course was hillier than I'd expected, it was hot and humid and it just sucked ass overall. And it totally showed in my time...a good 30 minutes slower than my average
BUT I finished...and earned the biggest medal of my life. Totally worth it, right? Heh.

Nice work! I have totally done that too. It was only like 2 months after my marathon and I figured "how much fitness could I have possibly lost even though I've been half assing my training?" The answer: a lot. It was brutally painful and my time was 35 minutes off my PR. Nevah again!
you guys, LOL for days - the look on my face here says it ALL (also, dang - marathon foto is FAST!)
LOL. Fantastic. At least your mouth is closed! I usually have one like this, but my mouth is all open and slack-jawed, and I look like I'm roughly 1/20th of a second away from dropping dead on the course. The best part is that they usually want about $30 for that lil gem!
That is a serious medal!! Congrats on finishing, and I hope you're feeling ok and have a good recovery. Now the question is, do you feel like doing another?? Or are you still meh about running right now.

(Either is fine; I'm totally just curious.)
Oh, I'll keep running. Half marathons aren't my favorite - 5Ks have my heart - but there are two I'll run every year till my legs fall off because I'm legacy (Hollywood and Tinkerbell).
