Good weekend here! We had a party sat but everyone brought stuff and left the leftovers.. my bro/sil stayed over and picked up bagels for breakfast.. got a $50 survey check in the mail.. and DH had a side job and made some money which covers the Life insurance bills that came this weekend..
My weekend was very MM because H and I sat down and actually reviewed our spreadsheet in all its (horrific) glory. We then went over short and long term goals and how to get there. It was very cathartic.
Actual spending was low as well.
The spending freeze is really keeping us honest and on track.
Friday: $0 Saturday: $3 at Sbux $11 at Charming Charlie $42 for mani/pedi/tip $26 at Kohls for a pair of shorts and 2 necklaces $17 at Target for a new hairbrush and insulated cup Sunday: Gas: $40
I didn't think I spent much, until I took broke it all down
- Grocery Store: $154 (would have spent less, but DH came along and tossed random items into the cart) - Costco: $192 (stocked the chest freezer with meat) - Local Hardware Store: $22 (paint brushes and accessories) - Home Depot: $54 (random items needed for house projects) - Dunkin Donuts: $3.39 (Coolatta) - Lord & Taylor: $202 (splurge)
Friday: $0 Saturday: $0 Sunday: $62 gas (I put off filling it up for as long as I could but the weather was too nice not to take it out for a cruise around town)
So hiking, walking at the park, and catching up on TV shows = really cheap weekend!
Not MM for us. FIL did some work for us. We paid for his plane ticket, paid him for the work, plus he asked if we could help with a new car for MIL; so we gave him extra money. Then we went on a 2 day trip to Tahoe, which was planned in advance of knowing that we would be giving FIL extra money.
FIL plane ticket $760 FIL payment for work + contribution towards new car $5000 Hotel for the weekend $985 rental car $330 trampoline tickets for 2 kids $24 Boat cruise $260 Sunday dinner $66 (other meals were paid by others) Gas for the trip $120

Fri: $33.58 gas for my car Brought lunch to work and went to a friend's for dinner (we brought wine we already had)
Sat: $9.67 at Target for some face wash $4.50 for snow cones $24.57 for a quick dinner out $52.47 for drinks at a Sake bar
Sun: $16.19 for some tacos for lunch $30.48 at the farmer's market (including $8 worth of delicious figs) $14.62 for some steaks to grill for dinner (H will go to the butcher tonight for the rest of the week's meat) $40.85 fill up my car again since I drove so much on Friday for work (boo)
Total $226.93 on food, drinks, and gas (all in the budget!)
Uh we bought a 2014 Mazda CX-5. It was anything but MM. I mean we got a good deal but cars are freaking expensive! On the upside we're now a 2 car household for the first time in our 5 years of marriage. It is amazing! So freeing to not have be chauffer anymore and drive H to & from work everyday. *sigh*

It wasn't MM at all. Friday I took my mentee shopping so dinner plus over $100 in clothes between the two of us (including two dresses, pants, three shirts and a belt).
Saturday was a good friend's birthday. My share for gifts, wine tasting, dinner, drinks, and activities was easily $150. I'd have to look it up to be sure.
Sunday just lunch out at the sports bar for the World Cup final about $20.

That is incredibly generous of you. Your mentee is lucky to have someone helping her out (I assume it is a her from the fact that you bought dresses, but then again I life in SF so if it isn't - that's cool, too).
Aw. Hugs. Thank you. She's a sweet heart and has been through so much. It's nice to give her a break where she can just be a kid for a while.
Of course, as I said some of those clothes were for me too. But I started a new thread for the rest of the back to school budget.
