Do you? I just found myself finishing the rest of Ella and Kate's breakfast. Yesterday it was their lasagna. Sometimes it's their snacks. It's usually not a lot, but still, it's extra food I usually wouldn't consume.

I don't usually only because I imagine it covered in slobber. Also, it's typically been sitting there for a good hour before they say they are done with it and I don't like eating cold food.
If it's still good and there's a lot left, I plastic wrap it and stick it in the fridge for the next meal. I'll pull something off of it for the next meal and the rest the next day. If it's 3 bites of a sandwich, I just toss it.
It depends on what it is, he eats his food lukewarm/cool regardless of what it is (anything remotely warm he declares got and won't touch it). So it has to be something that is good cold. The mangled nature also plays a big role.
If it's something that he's stolen from me (which is not an uncommon occurrence), I'll finish it. Otherwise my H will finish it unless it's soggy cereal, then it goes straight in the trash.

I usually do the same with lunch food. They're picky with dinner, so whatever they don't finish, I know they won't eat the next day. I'm in the "at least I offered it" boat most of the time.

No soggy cereal here. They usually eat it all, but I get skeeved out with soggy stuff. Yuck.
We do and really need to stop. I have a friend who has 3 kids. As an experiment her and her husband stopped doing this for a month and they both lost 5 pounds.
Wow!
My sisters have older kids, and they usually bring their plates directly to them when they're "done" eating, which usually is still a full plate of food. My sister will literally have multiple plates sitting in front her. Sometimes she eats them, other times she doesn't.
I really want to break the habit before their plates get bigger!
It depends on what it is and if it's been touched or already put in his mouth. I passed on some tater tots the other day that were splattered with applesauce. But, yesterday I finished his cheese stick. I'm going to really think about it now though thanks to this thread!
No because food after kids touch it grosses me out. They probably mixed their applesauce with the savory dish or something. Or had their hands all up in it.

I definitely won't touch certain things, especially random things that have been mixed.
Cold eggs is a big no-no for me. Totally grosses me out.
ewww no. its usually covered in milk spit and slobber.
(i totally just made her sound like a dog)
They get neater as they get older. No spit and slobber on Ella's food. I might find a random piece of chewed/spit out food on Kate's plate, though. I obviously don't eat that.
Yes, and it's a problem. He's become a super picky eater, and he's also pretty skinny, so I usually make him a wide variety of foods. Then he takes two bites and I eat the remaining 66,467,809 calories.
@therealmc the windex is a funny idea! It seems so wasteful - But also wasteful is all the money I'm going to spend on yoga and massages once I gain 80 pounds this pregnancy. Windex, you say.....

I've lost 8 since stopping this just last month. I didn't realize how much I was doing it. :-|
Obviously I don't eat the gross stuff like fish dipped in applesauce then ketchup. But if I just cut her a piece if banana bread that I made and she only ate one bite, then I would.
Only if it's something she has stolen off of my plate. A lot of the time she refuses to eat the food on her plate and will just eat off of ours.
Back in the day, my grandma had a really big weight problem and was always eating the remains of the kids food. It got so bad that she asked my grandpa to pour cigarette ashes on the plates when the kids were done eating (keep in mind this is the 50's-70's)
