That's great it's not a stress fracture and you have a plan of action! I hope your pain resolves soon.
I've had custom orthodics made twice in my lifetime, once in my late teens and then again in my early 20's. Both pairs ended up collecting dust in my closet because I could never get used to wearing them. I'm sure they use better designs and materials these days. I wish my current insurance would cover a new pair. I'd probably have a lot less issues with running higher mileage. My IT band, knees, etc flare up once I get in the 50 mpw range. (Or maybe I'm just getting old, lol).

That's great news! I've had orthodics since I was 10. My feet overpronate in a weird way, which throws off the rest of my leg (my kneecaps actually turn towards the inside of my legs rather than up and down). Without them in any athletic shoes, I can't do any type of movement without getting horrendous cramps in my calves and intense knee pain. I've had 2 sets, mainly because I lost the first set a few years ago. I've found that I'm OK without them in all of my other shoes, but absolutely need them anytime I wear sneakers of any kind. I don't feel them at all when they are in. My feet were never narrow to begin with, so I find that they don't affect the fit of my sneakers (unless they're Nike, which run super narrow).
I had a very mild case of PF. The morning stretches (before getting out of bed) helped.
DH just had an issue with his ankle that was originally thought to be a stress fracture. Turns out it is a tendinitis of sorts, but in a really unusual spot. PT is taking care of it.
Thanks y'all! I went for a run at lunch and everything seemed much better. The pad under my arch is a bit annoying, but I gather that it's "fixing" the problem? At least I hope!
Other problems I can't fix, like my inability to acclimate to this heat...I'll whine about elsewhere!LOL
Thanks again for all the support, y'all know how to ease a girls worries!
