I think you sound like me. I didn't hear an accent. I usually hear a's differently than other people in Canada because of where I'm from, but even those sounded the same to me

yeah, you sound like me. it;s so true that it's the 'a' sound - i can tell immediately when someone is from AL or BC. it's such a slight difference, so much so that i can't mimic it but i can totally hear it.
Best I can describe is like, with family, they say it more flat, like fahhhhmily, and I would say it fayumily.

Lol, BC. I've had some friends comment on my pronunciation of a few words, lol. A lot of people in my family have heavy accents and I guess some of it just rubbed off.
