What's going on tonight? I made pizza for us, and am drinking wine waiting for DH & the kids to come in & eat it. Then bath (DH will do it while I hurry to put the laundry away) and then more drinking. I work in the morning, but I have only a slight idea of when. 6? Meh. IDGAF.

Oh, I needed one last night. I'm still fired up.
DS2 (9th grade) came by with XH to tell me he got a "mild, potential concussion" at football camp.
He's a lineman and apparently wasn't in correct form because his equipment doesn't fit right. The school didn't have a big enough helmet and the new shipment was wrong. He can't look up because his shoulder pads are too small - but he has a good pair from last year in the basement. His helmet from last year apparently lost some of the air in the padding, so he felt he metal touch his head when he got hit.
I don't know if DS told the coach why he couldn't get in correct form but if he did and coach let him do full contact without correct gear, I'm gonna need more than a drink.

I wasn't on much yesterday afternoon, because it was my birthday. I needed to tidy up the house before some friends came over for cake.
Nothing going on tonight. H & I are exhausted, because our dog has a new habit of barking his brains out at 5:45 AM, because he wants to play with us. Ugh, we're so tired!
mrsreynolds4 I'd be pisssssssed, I hope your son is ok!
Mild concussion = yes
We are headed up to the practice he can't attend with some paperwork for the trainer and I'll be talking to coach then.
Seriously, I know my son is a beast but he's also pretty new to FB (or any sports) and doesn't always know when to speak up or how things should run. IMO, Coach needs to help him out if he wants him to play so badly.
The GOOD news is our state treats concussions seriously. Any mild concussion symptoms = kid benched until cleared by a doctor. Then they have a gradual return to activity with pretty careful monitoring by the trainers. And, trainer decisions trump coach wishes which I think is important in some schools.
