I for sure wouldn't want to spend every Saturday in a class. Even if for only 2 hours with the drive that still takes a good chunk of your day.
I'm also shocked by the cost! But I guess I'm lucky to live in an area where classes here are around $10, sometimes even free.
Our thoughts exactly! We don't want to spend every Sat in a class...we are typically busy and almost never home (or just have house chores/projects) so I don't see how this would work.
FWIW, this class specifically is the only one we have to pay for (baby care basics, breastfeeding, etc are all free). They offer a Laber and Delivery Process class but it doesn't cover breathing/relaxation techniques, etc. This one is way more in-depth. We live in So Cal so we are used to everything being crazy expensive...

I took Bradley classes with my first and was very happy with the experience. Bradley classes are typically 10 to 12 weeks though so you would need to start before 30 weeks.

It was really helpful for us our first go around. I felt pretty well prepared, because I had read a lot. H had not - so it was nice for him to be corralled into a place to have to receive the information. We watched some stuff on the 5S's and he glommed onto those and used them constantly when she was a newborn. I don't think I could have gotten him to actually read the book, so I was glad he got the information.
It also went over some useful things I hadn't learned in reading. Like the crotchet like needle they use to break your water. I'm kind of glad I knew what that looked like prior to it being used.
For our first we took the childbirth class (4 weekday nights), infant CPR(1 Saturday) breast feeding (1 Saturday) and newborn care classes (2 weekday nights)
This time we are taking DD to the sibling class (tomorrow actually)
I'm glad we went to it all, even though I knew most of it- it was good to hear again and it was really great for DH
