I found Bs placenta tincture in my drawer today. I never ordered one but my placenta encapsulation lady have it to me as a bonus. I read that you could squirt it into your child's vaccine marks but I never did that. Any ideas off how to use it? Should I chug it like a shot after Wednesdays transfer?
I don't know what it is, but it's over a year old. Throw it out.
I disagree. Everything I've read says that the tincture will last a loooong time. Women use it while weaning or going through other hormonal changes more than a year after birth. Here's just one of the sites I looked at that says "Placenta Tincture : A remedy that will last you a lifetime."
The tincture basically lasts forever. It's made using everclear. Women use it when going through menopause. That being said, I would definitely not chug it.
The doula who encapsulated my placenta and made the tincture suggested taking a dropper-full in a cup of water.

I probably wouldn't take it after your appointment. I wanted to take some of my placenta pills (which are frozen in my freezer), but since I was already pregnant it was recommended that I not.
Do you like the tincture? I have that option this time, but I was just going to go with the pills again.
Why would you put it on their vaccine marks? Nothing leaves scars anymore. Is it safe to ingest ?
Keep it for the next one.
BCG leaves scars...
I'd be in the curio cabinet camp if you wanted to keep it. Cannot imagine even wanting to keep part if my placenta in whatever form that is! What happened the rest of it? I may regret asking that.....
It's supposed to last a very long time so I would keep it for menopause. If you want to take some I would only take a dropper full. I would be nervous about the amount of hormones that a whole bottle could have (when you say transfer I am assuming this is IVF related ). Good Luck!

I don't understand how being in alcohol could allow any healthy properties it may have had to still be effective. Does orange infused vodka have any measurable vitamin c in it?
Another vote for call your placenta lady. When I got my pills back from mine she told me a whole bunch of things about using and storing them that I don't remember now because we had the conversation at 2 days PP and well, you know what that's like. I know it's still good, but I'm less familiar with the uses for tincture vs. Pills.

Yeah, I mean I can believe that the particles suspended in alcohol are preserved. However, have a hard time believing that whatever small quantity of hormones that makes it into the tincture stays biologically active for decades.

This is where I am. I am not particularly grossed out by this, and I can buy that it is preserved and thus not rancid old placenta juice . I am just struggling to understand how such a tiny quantity of anything preserved in alcohol over a long period of time could really provide a measurable benefit.
