I go back to work tomorrow for a 24 hour shift, and I'm already having anxiety about pumping. How much to leave fresh? How much to freeze? I also feel kinda guilty about being a little excited to go back. I'm not looking forward to leaving my baby, but I miss my coworkers!
We went out to lunch today, and I handed my to-go box to DH to grab, since I had the baby, and he forgot it. Grrrr.
I leave whatever I pump in the fridge. On Friday, I put whatever is left over in the freezer. On Monday, I use the oldest in my freezer stash.
Also, I was so firmly on Team Onesie For Lyfe until about a month ago when a switch flipped and all of a sudden I'm all about tee shirts for Bas. He looks so grown up! And it's so convenient for bum checks! And it's easier with a long thin baby!
I'm still all about onesies for babies, especially in that stage where they are wiggly and shirts just ride up to the armpits. But I'm slowly phasing out Bas's onesies and we got a ton of hand-me-down tees that we're using now.
This is fascinating. I'm having a hard time imagining stopping using onesies! We put DS in a t-shirt a few days ago because he's about to outgrow it and never wore it. It lasted 10 minutes before I got sick of it and changed him, lol. Glad to know the riding up won't be a problem forever!
DH got in a pool with the baby for the first time today. DS didn't seem to mind but I think he was just confused! He was kicking his legs a bit at least. Now that I had to peel him out of clothes after swimming, I'm not looking forward to pool days and swim lessons! That was more difficult than I expected.
My mom gave me a hard time for wanting to order pink stationery because some of it might be used for baby thank-you notes, and it's a boy. (I had 100 cards that I've used for thank-you notes for both of my showers, but I'm down to 19 remaining and I figure we'll get some gifts when the baby comes. But they're just cards with my initials on them that will be used for all purposes.)
I got really annoyed and asked her if I needed to clear all the pink out of my wardrobe, too. :-#
We have several pink baby toys, a pink wipes dispenser, and if they made them with bows, I would put DS in a pink polo to match DH. No one has said anything. It annoys me for you. My thought with the wipes container is that it's an item for me and I liked the pink best.
Maybe it's the British in me, but I love little boys in pink. My son has always owned a pink polo and he rocks it!
I have to admit that it did make me laugh a little inside that the mom who is uber crunchy with regards to food in our group has the kid that threw a giant fit about having to wait 10 minutes for a cupcake at DD's birthday party while the rest of the toddlers happily ate their lunches.

Well my problem is, I work 24 hour shifts, so I only work 1-2 days per week. Sometimes I don't work for a week, other times my shifts are a few days apart. I think I'm going to end up freezing it all unless I work in the next 2-3 days or so. Then I can just use my freezer stash.

I would keep some fresh and some frozen, rotate between the two!
DH left 2 hours ago for a work trip. DS and I went mall walking then he played at the play area. When we got home my garage door opener wouldn't work and I didn't have any other keys to the house. So we had to meet up with my mom to get a spare key. We decided to meet at Costco and since my child was starving at this point I bought him a hotdog. I think he liked it. I'm sure I was judged by many for his lunch today. Screw the haters!
I took ds there for dinner the other night and we split pizza AND a hot dog, I was feeling a little bad but then three other moms sat down and fed their kids the same thing so i felt better. Lol. Ds kept making mmmmm sounds. Right on kid, it is delicious!
I folded laundry and did dishes today. I keep thinking that if all goes well this week, this may be one of the last times we will have to do these tasks.
What do you have this week??
My mom came to visit for the weekend and it's been so much fun; I don't want the weekend to end. I wish she was closer
C took a late nap and just woke up at 6:00pm. DH is prepping steak kabobs for the grill. I'm sitting on the couch eating yogurt covered pretzels. I love summer.

Thank you! That is my thought. At least I got my cute and girly diaper bag without having to hear her input! (She has been staying with us for the better part of a month since I broke my ankle.)
We also registered for some baby mittens on Amazon, and apparently I chose an "assorted colors" package, so we ended up with pink mittens. My mom was all "you're not putting pink mittens on that baby!" I'm not sure why it matters. Pretty sure the pink mittens won't turn him into a girl. Lol
I think we may go buy a car tomorrow. DH wants my Pathfinder so I'd get the new car. I don't really care & enjoyed the not having a car payment. But I figured out that between the new rentals, the increase in the rent on the other house, no paying tutoring & DHs raise we'll have $1500 more a month this year...so we should swing a payment fine. Think we'll be getting an SUV & not the huge van though . That Nissan NV we saw in person & it was really enormous to the point of obnoxious...bummer, I still would have bought it. Lol.
I buy kosher dogs so I'm good, right? Don't answer that actually because B had Chef Boyardee for dinner. Aren't preservatives why Columbus sailed to America?
B slept til 7:30 (nearly 13 hours) then took a nap from 11:15 to 3 and just went to bed at 7 tonight. Why does he sleep so much? Are we boring? We took him to breakfast, the museum, the Dollar Store and Home Depot. I bought him play dough. Nothing is more interesting than sleep apparently. Why so tired?!
I just opened a comically bad bottle of sweet red wine that I bought at Aldi because I liked the label. Oh well, drinking it anyway
I really need to do stuff tonight. Like, clean up, get the laundry away, possibly start to pack. But I'm am so effing whipped after being with the kids alone all day. I'm so relieved I booked my babysitter for Monday so if it comes down to it, what needs to get done will get done. This is not motivating me now.
Tonight my parents are babysitting overnight for the first time ever! Bas is sooooo much more comfortable with them than the past few visits (thanks, daycare) and I know it'll be just fine. Although I did laugh at the fact that in the first 5 minutes of them hanging out alone with him yesterday (H had just stepped out of the room), he fell and split his lip. Definitely the sort of injury that could have happened with us there, but it feels Alanis-ironic.
Us too! First time overnight at Grammys house. I've been telling DS all day that he's "having a sleepover at Grammys house, like big boys do." Fingers crossed it goes well! He loves Grammy so much, he wouldn't even kiss me when I dropped him off. He just said "bye momma!" As he walked away.
We've already had a fancy crab cake dinner with CANDLES, next up is a zombie movie at FULL VOLUME, then very very LOUD sex

We interviewed a doula this afternoon. She seemed nice and we're going to use her for our birth. I'm glad to get that decision out of the way. I wish our last one hadn't moved away! I've got some steak marinating and we're going grill tonight.

And MM! $1.50 for a hot dog and drink. I couldn't believe he ate 85% of that massive hot dog.
I just have a vent - I can't believe I'm getting my period at 7 weeks post partum. This is total crap - last time it didn't come until 9 months post partum.
