Trainer a: I feel like his approach is more regimented and methodical (which is what I need initially.) If I sign up I can't keep my gym membership and I think it's going to be harder for me to work out in my loving room and stuff. I can't use their gym unless im with the trainer. Also this guy ends up being £120 more a month. I had an overall better first impression with him.
Trainer b: I feel like I would make my goals with him, but it doesn't feel quite as prescriptive. He did tell me that if I need him to email me food plans for the week he can do that and that would help me immensely. I can keep my gym membership (with classes) if I go with this guy.
Both trainers are a 5 minute walk from my place. I'd do two days a week with them and then im on the hook for at least 2 days on my own. Both have hours that work for me too.
I'd go with B since it seems like it will be better in regards to when you don't work out with the trainer, so you can keep using the gym. But, is there any way to meet with another trainer at the same gym since you weren't completely sold on him?

I'd go with B. The meal plans and access up a gym would be big up sells. If you're dedicated to making the change you will be able to use the gym and machines he teaches you how to properly. Classes are a bonus as well.

I really want to say... "is there no other option?"
Because really, neither of them sound that great to me (because of what you've said). Of the two I agree the second one is better, but I wonder if it will ultimately be successful. Based on your tone, it seems like he isn't going to be as good at sending you meal plans and motivating you. For me, having an instructor I work well with makes SO much of a difference. I wish that wasn't the case, but I know I don't push myself as hard in a class if they aren't teaching/talking in a way that pushes me (and some just downright annoy me).
Also, in your other post you talked about not being motivated to go to the gym on your own, do you think that will change with the trainer? As in, you will be motivated to go if they aren't going to meet you there? If so, then obviously you should choose one where that's an option, but if you think you'll only go when they are working with you maybe that isn't as important.
Go with B and tell him what you need. Tell him what you liked about the other trainer. My last trainer I had I loved her because she listened to me and changed up how we did things.

That is a good point. I hate disappointing a coach and then if they ask about what I did on the inbetween days, I'd be embarrassed and ashamed if I tell them I didn't come in so that would force me to do it. Of course, that only works if I like the coach in the first place.
