Highs: all of it really! We had a great trip to VT, enjoyed our visit with DS's birth mom, had fun at the kiddie amusement park and dinner with our friends last night. My MIA parents even made a surprise visit for breakfast yesterday.
Lows: Making plans with my parents is a shit show. They are so "laid back" and non-committal that it makes us stabby.
Best thing you ate: my BFF made these s'more/peanut butter/rice krispie bars
Lows: hotel was sold out, so I only went to see her Sunday, so I ended up going to MILs birthday, which I said I wouldn't do (But it was actually a good day). Yesterday I left my sunroof open and there was a flash rainstorm (even though it was sunny!) so my seats were all wet and then on the way home I dumped my coffee all over the floor in my backseat. Not a good day for my car!
Best thing I ate: Smarties ice cream in a fresh waffle cone
Highs: Left work at noon on Friday, saw Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings perform, went clubbing with my friend who moved to NYC last year (and boy did that make me feel old!), saw four bands and an aerial arts performance on Saturday, slept till 1pm on Sunday, impromptu BBQ/party with neighbors and 12 friends Sunday night.
Lows: My legs are so sore from all the walking and dancing!
Food: My friend made an amazing beer can chicken last night

Highs: MIL was very surprised and pleased to have all of her sons and their families together for her birthday. We spent all Saturday together, so we're good for a while! She was super appreciative to us for hosting everyone even if it was BIL's idea. After everybody left I was actually in the mood (thank goodness) to get the house pretty much back to normal.
Lows: I stuck my foot in my mouth about one of my SIL's sister. But what I said was true, so meh. I think I have a bone spur on my foot, and after cleaning the house twice this weekend, it is killing me today.

Food: BIL makes a pretty darn good brisket.
I'm glad it all went smoothly.
I really like your transition from "foot in mouth" to "foot bone spur." LOL

Perhaps my foot wouldn't hurt as bad if I hadn't bitten down so hard when it was in my mouth! Haha

Highs: full-body massage to start the weekend, visited a friend for lunch & pedicures, hung out at the pool, going away party for friends
Lows: a friend's dog was hit by a car and died. She was pretty devastated, understandably, and I tried my best to comfort her.
Best thing to eat: we went to a brunch-buffet with a bunch of people at a restaurant that has bottomless mimosas included, the food was delicious! My favorites were the lobster & crab bisque, cornbread stuffing, and there was a white chocolate bread pudding & bananas foster that I could not get enough of. I ate so much that I was uncomfortable for most of the day after that, but I guess buffet's will do that.

High: just a great spontaneous weekend not filled with visitors and tons of plans. We were able to be tourists in our own town and enjoyed some time just the two of us!
Low: so badly wanted to sleep in past 8 and spent extra time making our room dark before going to bed. Didn't work, both wide awake at 7. Why can't we sleep in like we used to, lol??
Food: amazing wine and caprese salad at a local italian restaurant

Highs: We got a ton of stuff done around the house, had some good us time with the H on Friday.
Lows: After hanging out with our neighbors on Saturday, I came to the sad realization, that I need to distance myself from this couple. They are very negative, and I always end up with a bad taste in my mouth whenever we hang out with them. This makes me somewhat sad, because I have known the wife since we were in kindergarten.
Best thing you ate: I made a pretty fantastic B.L.T for lunch yesterday.
We had a pretty great weekend! But, let me back up to Wednesday...we saw Justin Timberlake! The concert was so good!
Friday was opening day at the track, so we went, of course. We both made numerous phone calls and emails for work, but it was pretty relaxing. It is the "hats off" festival in town all weekend, so there were tons of things going on in town.
Saturday was the white party gala for an excellent not for profit. We had a blast, even though the band wasn't great.
Sunday I had my bff's baby shower...which had wine....

Best: So much! My weekend is just coming to an end because I had Sunday/Monday off. We got our washer/dryer delivered and set up, did so much unpacking, met with B's family for lunch, cooked foods and just had a semi relaxing, semi motivated weekend. I'm in a disgustingly giddy mood.
Worst: Nothing, minus the fact that it was hot as baaaaalllllls outside.
Tastiest: Homemade guacamole. Huge fresh salad. California turkey burger.
Highs: spending time with BFF Friday & Sat, brunch that turned into dinner and lots of wine with another friend on Sunday, and getting a bunch of cleaning done.
