Just saw this today. Since getting pregnant, I signed up to get the FDA emails.
ETA: This affects non-Wegmans fruit including peaches, nectarines, and plums, so check your fruit! This gives additional information to the original link I gave below: www.wawonapacking.com/VoluntaryRecall-07192014.pdf
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 20, 2014 - Rochester, NY - Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. is voluntarily recalling several in-store baked desserts that may contain fresh peaches, nectarines, and/or plums. The fruit was supplied by California-based Wawona Packing Company, which issued a voluntary recall when routine testing by the company showed potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses associated with this recall have been reported to Wawona or to Wegmans.
L. monocytogenes is a bacterium that can contaminate foods and cause a mild non-invasive illness (called listerial gastroenteritis) or a severe, sometimes life-threatening, illness (called invasive listeriosis). Persons who have the greatest risk of experiencing listeriosis after consuming foods contaminated with L. monocytogenes are fetuses and neonates who are infected after the mother is exposed to L. monocytogenes during pregnancy, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems. Customers who have experienced these symptoms should contact their physician.
The following recalled products may contain the affected Wawona-packed fruits. The products are labeled with a store-printed scale label that will identify the product and UPC.

Ugh, so I'm still thinking about this...and of course, questioning if I'm okay.
I ate the peaches a couple weeks ago....but on Friday I had a really bad headache, then yesterday I had diarrhea earlier in the day. I'm sure both were probably due to other things, but now I'm questioning myself on if I should call my OB/GYN or not?
I've eaten at least one piece of stone fruit a day from Wegmans since mid-June and am now a bit freaked out, so I have a call into my OB to see if we can do a blood test for the next few weeks. I realize this probably sounds nuts but I also spent a large portion of my third trimester waiting for toxoplasmosis results to come back so now food stuff makes me extra paranoid :/
Those eating the actual fruit from Wegmans (not the bakery products), I'd maybe call. Their statement in the last link I posted looks like it was the pre-packed peaches at Sam's, TJ's, Costco, and other places. They also have pictures of the fruit labels if you still have some. I'm all paranoid now and sitting here on hold with them because I have been eating peaches from Walmart, and while it isn't in any of the pictures, I'm confirming that they didn't sell any to them.

You know what worries me ... this recall extends back to June and we eat our fruit REALLY fast. I KNOW I've bought 'Sweet 2 Eat' fruit before ... We don't have any right now though
I juuuust bought peaches and plums and now I'm scared to eat them.
Wash them in a vinegar wash. 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar. I've been doing this for my fruits and veggies since getting pregnant. It's supposed to kill more bacteria than just water alone. Smooth fruits and veggies get soaked for a few minutes. Rough ones like potatoes and melons get scrubbed with a brush.

Thanks. I'll start doing a vinegar wash. I usually just do soap and water rinse. Listeria scares the bejesus out of me. Especially since we eat so much fresh fruit and veggies at our house.

Not sure if vinegar would be more effective than soap or not. It's frustrating. It makes me leary to eat any fresh produce I haven't prepared myself.
Here I am suffering by not eating deli meat, and this entire time I should have been worried about the massive amounts of fresh fruit I've been eating.

I'm with you. My DS loves watermelon and canteloupe. Those precut packages are so tempting over lugging a giant whole one around. But I don't want to risk it. So I'm the big pregnant lady lugging the big watermelon into her cart.

crap. crap crap crap. We bought peaches & nectarines 3 times in June and 2 times in July. ALL from Sams - ALL related to this recall. Of course they were all eaten within days of purchase. Everything got rinsed, but not with vinegar or anything other than water. oh and symptoms can take 2 - 30 days to develop....
I'll be calling my OB in the morning (since there have been no reported cases) and requesting the blood test be done... crap crap crap.
My peaches were not part of the recall according to the statement they released. Still, being paranoid, I ate one tonight and before eating washed the outside with soap, peeled and cut it, and microwaved it until steaming. It was actually pretty good. This is scaring me into treating fruit like deli meat.
For those of you that were going to call your OB, did you?
I ate a peach yesterday before I heard about the recall, and it was definitely on the recall list. I even called Wegmans to confirm. I'm sure I've eaten others in the past month as well.
I figured it would do no good to call my OB since they don't treat prophylactically (prior to diagnosis). So if you called, are you glad you did? what did they tell you?
I called my OB, they had gotten tons of calls about it. They just told me to call them if I get a fever or have severe abdominal distress. My dad was actually some sort of food microbiologist and he said he was not concerned. Washing fruit in water can be enough to get listeria bacteria off and he said symptoms usually present in a matter of days even though they say they can present up to 1-2 months later.
I guess I would say I'm glad that I called. My OB called me back to let me know that he was looking into what they can do with another doctor, and he's going to get back to me. He said not to be too concerned in the meantime though because more than likely it is fine especially since I rinsed them in water beforehand.
Also, as obladi mentioned washing fruit in water can sometimes be enough to get listeria off...So I'm hopeful everything is okay

We have peaches at home right now that are part of the recall. I also ate some last week. Sucks, but I think for now I am just going to hope for the best and pay extra attention to any weird symptoms.
I had a doctor's appointment today and asked about this. She said she a lot of people had called worried about this recall. She said symptoms usually present themselves within a few days to a week. She said she could order a blood test if I wanted, but didn't think it was necessary. She said the chances for contracting it were slim and even more slim if I washed the fruit (which I did). She said to notify her if I had stomach cramps, diarrhea or increased bowel movements, vomiting, or fever/unusual sweating.

I called my OB about it. They had not yet received any calls about it... but they did order blood cultures for me. Of course after I got home I googled it and the CDC says that blood tests may not be terribly good predictors...
Basically I'm supposed to watch for unusual symptoms and go from there.
Of course now that I think back over the past month there have been times of *ahem* increased bowel activity that could be related. Though, since it was on fruit and I tend to eat a LOT of fruit (which is why we buy it in bulk at Sams) and eating a lot of fruit tends to make you more *productive* anyway... I'm not sure which caused the productivity.
I'm hoping that the fact that I always rinse off my fruits before eating them will cut that risk down.
