Clothes are generally 50 cents, $1 for jeans and dresses. Toys can vary from 50 cents up to $5-10 for larger electronic toys. Videos, 50 cents each. Shoes $1-3 for each pair. Yard sales are definitely about getting rid of stuff and not making money, although there have been times I've been lucky enough to make a good amount in the past.
Clothes, shoes, and videos for $1 apiece. Maybe a couple dollars for toys, depending what they are. Honestly, though, none of those things are great sellers, and you'd probably be better off just donating everything. I think you generally need a few big ticket items (e.g. furniture) to make a garage sale worthwhile.

I do $1-3 for most clothes. Some are 50 cents. DVDs are $1-2. I usually have a quarter box for a lot of toys with most not exceeding $5. Large items are around 25% of retail unless it's something that is ALWAYS cheaper. Some stuff that is high demand can get 33-50% of retail (mainly baby items)
I realize this varies by region, but if you have done a yard/garage sale, what did your pricing look like?
We will have mostly adult clothes, some toys, some exercise equipment, some videos, some shoes, and a few knick knacks.
I want as much gone as possible.
Any other suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
If this is the ultimate goal, then less than $1 for everything on your list. Seriously. There's nothing worse than doing all the work and making no sales b/c stuff is priced too high.

I did a yard sale on Saturday. I priced almost everything for $1. A few things were $2-5. I just wanted stuff gone. I ended up making around $40 and got rid of a ton of stuff so I'm happy.
Most people bargained with me so I prices stuff at like $5 and they ended up paying $2or $3.

I'm thinking we will price most everything at $1 as well. Did people negotiate down from that as well or did most things go at $1?
No one negotiated from $1 but several people bought a bunch of stuff and said "will you take $5 for everything?" etc. I just accepted all, offers as I just wanted to get rid of stuff and make a bit of pocket money
Price it low and toward the end I would give people plastic shopping bags and tell them to fill for like a $1.00. I no longer do yard sales but I take DD2's clothes to consignment sales and usually make $100 plus twice a year. I also but most of her stuff there.
MIL doesn't price most of her stuff. She hangs a sign that just says "Make an offer". We got higher prices for stuff we thought was shit. This was the first sale where she got rid of most of her stuff. PLus she was then happy she saved all the time she normally would have spent pricing everything. She said all garage sales in the future she will do this same way.
