Since you won't be too pregnant, you have a lot of options. I would either go spa or do a fabulous city break going to the theater, great restaurants, etc.
A lot will depending in how you feel, but that's the golden pregnancy time for the majority of women. You are out of first tri blah and are not too big to be super uncomfortable.
That's the best time of year to go to Northern California - Lake Tahoe is gorgeous, but not swimmable unless you're ok with very chilly water.
Another idea is Sedona - fly into Phoenix, and drive about an hour and a half north. It's incredibly gorgeous, the vortex is supposed to make everyone happy (I am sure the behbeh would love it, lol), and the Enchantment resort is absolutely amazing - great spa, wonderful pools, rooms are super nice, etc. etc.
Why can't you travel internationally after August?
Does Puerto Rico count as international since you don't need a passport?
Wellllll.........I was debating about posting this here, but I don't see why not. I'm pregnant. I'm high risk and the doctor doesn't want me traveling internationally after August. In the event that there's an emergency, she'd rather I'd be close to US hospitals.
Congrats! My spidey sense was activated when you said you couldn't travel internationally after August. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy!

Thanks. : ) So far so good. I had about 10 days of pretty bad headaches, but have felt great otherwise. Crossing my fingers it stays that way.

Congrats! I would go to Charleston and Kiawah Island if I wanted the beach. New Orleans if I want a fun city. Lake Tahoe for outdoor stuff. Sedona and Grand Canyon for spas.
Well nothing can compare to Greece stateside Hamptons would not be on my list and Briney Breezes would not be a place that I choose to stay based on their photos.
Therefore, if it's gotta be September I would do something different - get away from the beach and island/water idea. I like the pp's suggestions of flying into Phoenix and doing Sedona. Do you like architecture? Do you like mild to moderate hiking and beautiful geography? Stay at a spa resort and enjoy the beautiful surroundings! L'Auberge or Enchantment Resort...
p.s. I doubt Amangiri would be available - they book up to a year in advance I thought, but it's definitely on my bucket list.

Congrats!
You could do a nice beach in FL. We're going to Marco Island next March and I know people who vacation there every year. Beautiful beach, laid back island, but close to Naples for upscale dining/shopping and even the Everglades if you were so inclined.
Marco has some upscale beach resorts that overlook the Gulf, or there are tons of vacation rentals too that are more affordable.
Are you sure you can't find anything other than a motel in montauk in September? On all of long island? Nothing at all in one of the Hampton towns? Would you consider the Jersey Shore if you're set on a beach vacation? I love Cape May and there are some high end places, a great little town, gorgeous beach and good restaurants. This place is especially nice, I think

A lot of places are booked, but I'm sure there is something better than Briney Breezes. I don't know why H thinks it looks like such an awesome place. If we were just going for a weekend, I'd say BB was fine, but a whole week? as a substitute for Greece?..no thank you.
Thanks to everyone here for the congrats and all the great suggestions.
Also thanks for mentioning medjet @sfgal530. I'll look into that.
That was the first thing I said. That would be a great replacement in my mind. I think having that long of a flight makes my husband (and my doctor) nervous though if something were to go wrong.
You can't think of it as a "replacement" trip, because you can't compete with Greece, and then you won't be happy with anything. Just think of it as a "babymoon"
That said, it is super hot in FL in August and being hot and pregnant is miserable, (I live here) so I'd pick something cooler. Maybe Glacier Natl Park, Yellowstone/ Grand Teton, San Fran...something along those lines.

Congrats!! I would probably go to the hot air balloon festival in New Mexico between Oct 4-12 and find a resort/spa in the area to just relax at. www.balloonfiesta.com/
