I immediately move the car dealership one when I brought my car home. However, I proudly display my "give blood" license plate frame that I received when I hit the 2 gallon mark.
Nope, dislike them. I wouldn't even let the dealership badge their name on DH's car. When we went to pick it up they had "forgotten" and put it on but it was recent enough that it could still be peeled off. If I'm going to advertise for you for the next 10+ years, you need to give me a much better deal on the car!
I do this, too. I make sure they don't put the sticker or the frames on. I am not free advertising for you, get out of here.
That said, I do have one though but that is my own choice - it's an alumni frame.
We have one from our college, but sadly we still have the car dealership one on the back of our van. We've been too lazy to take that one off and screw the college one on.
we don't allow any dealer stickers on our cars either. i have my 13.1 magnet and that's it.
We asked the dealership not to put a plate frame on the last car we bought. They said "sure!" Then slapped a sticker on before handing us the keys. That damn sticker wasn't there when we arrived at the dealership. I was livid, and they said they would not remove it for liability reasons. Paint could chip, etc.

I have a frame from my college and a Phillies plate on the front. When I bought my Mustang, the dealer actually removed my frames (two at the time because I was in NY) from my trade-in and threw them in the trash and replaced them with ones from the dealer. I was like, "Where are my license plate frames?" Oh we threw them out. Well, go get them. They cost $20, and I prefer keeping them to giving you free advertising.
Both of our cars have plain, thin silver frames around the licenses - similar to this. I really hate personalized license plate frames, bumper stickers, decals, etc. on cars but I think it looks more finished to have a simple frame around it.
I have this which is kinda dumb considering I took the badge off my car so no one can tell what it is. Oh well, it looks too plain without it and all they know is M. My other car has no frame.
I have one, because I am crazy like that and can't deal with a plate without a frame. But, it's just a basic black frame from AutoZone or whatever.
I told the dealership they could keep their sticker on my car & license plate frame for a $100 monthly advertising fee. Not surprisingly, they declined that & took the frame off as well as the little sticker thingy.
I have whatever my car came with. But I totally agree that dealerships shouldn't get to have free advertising on a vehicle that I'm paying thousands of dollars for. I've always wondered why they get to do that.
But I will add that I will ALWAYS have some sort of frame on my license plate from now on. **Warning - gross, graphic details ahead***
When I was a teenager I cut my knee open on a license plate that didn't have a frame around it. I was doing a National Honor Society car wash and tried to jump over a hose, and when I came back down my knee landed on a metal license plate. Cut all the way down to the knee cap. :? Needless to say, I really think that all cars should have SOMETHING around that giant piece of metal.
