"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
I'm picturing you holding a palm over his mouth when they were calling him. I'm sorry about butters.
Lol! Actually, they found him sometime today while I was at work. I came home to a note on my door saying "you have our cat! Call us when you get home (555) Not-UrCat."
Damn, they're good. I don't even know if I could differentiate my dogs' barks from some randoms' behind a wall.
OMG OMG the orange ones look just like mine as a baby. I could rub my face in his belly all day! And the other two to die for. I already have two and a dog so I'm cut off but...love

The orange ones are the sweetest!! Total cuddle bugs.
I'm sorry Kev There are shelters full of lovely kittens as well that need a home. I guarantee you'll fall in love with one of them just as much as you did the previous one.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

Yes. Kevin you should get a cheese cat. And name it cheddar. Or maybe Cotswold if you're feeling fancy.
I can't believe they let that cat roam outside in your neighborhood. What are they thinking? Seriously irresponsible.
In all seriousness, if this has taught you you're ready for a kitty, then definitely go to the shelter - I'm sure you'll find lots of warm, cuddly kitties to mend your broken heart.
And just to put more pressure on you, here is a picture of my new "baby" Jack.

My mom brought her new cat to our summer house for the first time. Shortly after we arrived, we were sitting on the porch and we saw Sydney (the cat) across the street. She must have escaped somehow. So I managed to get across the street and grabbed her and brought her back. She wasn't thrilled, but she wasn't freaking out.We were sitting on the porch with her when my mom said "Holy shit! I don't think that is Sydney." This cat was her exact twin, except she had fur on her tummy (Sydney had licked most of her fur off there). We flip her over and are staring at her stomach, trying to figure out how Sydney grew fur so quickly. Sydney then sauntered over to the screen door inside the house and started meowing at this other cat. Yep, I grabbed a random cat that looked just like ours. I let her go and she tore off across the street. When she got there, she turned around and gave us this look like "WTF people?". We never saw her again.
Sorry. You need to rescue him from people who call him that! He's not even yellow, for Pete's sake! You definitely need to take a trip to your local shelter (http://www.parl.org/adopt/adoptable-cats) and show those neighbors how cat ownership is done.
My heart breaks for you kevin arnold!! Eff those people who let their cat wander around.
Can I share my story... I'm always AW'ing my cat on here, it's sad. lol. But anyway, last fall my friend and her daughter were at the mall and passed by a kitty adoption event. They saw the most beautiful tuxedo cat ever, named Loki. He was super friendly. I've never had cat(s). Anyway, long story short, friend convinced me to adopt him. 2 days later, (and after much shopping at PetSmart, my trunk was stocked) she accompanied me to the shelter, where we asked to see him. The shelter employees' mouths all dropped and they said, "Loki? He was our FAVORITE! He was literally just adopted, maybe 20 minutes ago." Friend encouraged me to look at the other cats but all I could think about was how sad I was over not getting Loki. I seriously sobbed in the car. lol. But anyway, with a heavy heart, I got onto Petfinder several days later and found my kitty! Formerly Cherie, now Sadie. www.petfinder.com/petdetail/26675652 And she's the best!!! She was the right one for me, and the right one for you is out there needing a home.
