We just got a mailing for a great disney deal ($199 3 nights + 1 day park tickets) at the Holiday Inn timeshare resort in Orlando. We did this tour a few years back and it was MISERABLE! Extremely pushy & long (3 hours with an impatient toddler). Now, I love a good deal so I'm considering it but my husband can't bear the thought of suffering through the timeshare pitch again. So, how far would you go for a good deal?
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.
It would be one thing if you felt it was worth it the first time. But if it was miserable and your husband can't bear the thought of doing it again, why on earth would you subject yourself to it?
My parents did the Disney one atleast twice to get free tix to Disney (this was back in the 80s / 90s). They knew they weren't buying the timeshare so it was easy for them to say no and it was only an hour of their time so they did it.
We did one for an upgrade in Mexico. Again, only an hour of our time and we knew there was no way we could afford it or wanted it.
You may not even be able to attend another one if the last pitch was fairly recent.
We did one once before kids when we barely had any money, purely for the gas card home and shits and giggles. (We were not staying at a particularly desirable place, so that we were not out enjoying the area at the time was not so much a factor as it might be if we were in Orlando and into being in Orlando.) There is no way we would ever do it now.

I have done a few of these for various deals, and never regretted it. They usually took an hour of my time, and once the person realized I wasn't going to buy, they let up. It was worth it to me.
I am shocked they would take up 3 hours with a toddler.
I would look up how much value that is, the hotel and the tickets, and decide if that is worth 3 hours of your time.
We decided not worth it, although 3 nights at the Orange Lake Resort plus $200 in park tickets is a pretty sweet deal. In the end, it's probably worth close to $1000, just don't have the time to do it.
