So I don't know if anyone cares but I am happy so I am sharing. So last week I complained on here about the high cost of rental cars for our weekend to CT/Mass. I booked one last week for $350 for 4 days (more than 3 plane tickets i might add). Priceline just sent me an email w/recommended bids which I did and just got 4 days for $140! AND a bigger car (mid-size instead of economy).
You deserve a break. I almost hate to ask, any update on your car situation? Apologies if I missed it.
I am actually not 100% sure I updated lol. Anyway, it needed a new alternator and drive belt (and something else that I can't remember). The parts were more than the labor (like almost $500 in parts!). I asked if there was a way the other mechanic could break it. He said it didn't really have anything to do with the radiator (he verified that that was fixed) but that it was possible coolant from the radiator got into the alternator and shorted it out. They just couldn't really say that was for sure what had happened. He did say there was no excuse for the other mechanic releasing the car to me in the condition (w/out telling me about the additional problem which they should have been aware of) and were appalled it took them 4 days to get the car back to me.
Then again my mechanic was telling me how earlier that day he did a 2 hour trip (One way) to pick up a part for a client that needed their car back that day. So he understands something about customer service.

Well I am sorry this happened and that it was more expense, but glad your car has been fixed by someone who apparently knows what they are doing. I would have totally melted down after leaving the first freaking mechanic after 4 days with a still broken car. WTF.
Glad you got a better deal! I swear by Priceline for car rentals.
Did you try to get anything out of the bad mechanic?
No, because there was no way I could prove anything and I just didn't feel like dealing with them. If there was some way I could prove they did something wrong I would have.
