Okay I am trying not to laugh here, but I can't help it. Totally normal boy behavior. I tell my boys penis' or is it peni, are for your touching only not each other. I hope they get it soon. My four year old was playing with himself and put a plastic lego hair head type things on the tip of his penis and was hysterical. I had to leave the room, you should have seen this little plastic wig on the tip of his penis and he was so proud, he kept saying I put hair on my penis. Ugh. I told my husband to deal with it. I hope it was not continued laughter, but as much as I hate to admit it, that was funny.
O started grabbing his penis TWO MONTHS AGO. Yes. 7 months old and gleeful at every bath and diaper change. GLEEFUL. He still does it. Pretty much nonstop.
Penises are private things, they can do whatever they want with them in private (by themselves in a bathroom / bedroom) but they can't play with them in public or with other people, even family members.
LOL! i feel like telling them to go to their bedrooms so their penises can kiss in private doesn't help this particular situation.
Yeah...wasn't talking about sending them together to a bedroom (I don't know if they share rooms or not) but more of "You can't play with / show your penis when there are other people in the same room"
Having 4 boys has given me a very innneresting view into what boys do or think they can do with their penises and then they think everyone should have one too. My 4 yr old told my 2 yr old (only)girl when she was getting changed, oh no, your pee pee fell off, we have to find it. I feel so bad for her, otoh, there are things that I say now on the daily that I never imagined I'd be saying involvingthe word penis and where not to put it.
Mine made one up called Bang Your Butts. They stand back to back and try to knock each other down by smacking their butts together. And there is some sort of chant about banging butts.
It cracks me up everytime. Luckily this only happens at home.
Also when we were having our anatomy scan the tech started at his head and worked his way up to the private parts area. She said "ohh you, get your hands out from in between your legs."
And that is when I knew I was having a second boy.

It took him 7 months?
I'm shocked.
Mine is 3 months and he checks to make sure it is still there at every diaper change!
Um, yeah. I would shut that down. What if one of them did it with a friend and the friend's parents freaked out? And pressed charges or something. Child labeled for sex offender for life? Ugh. Boys.
Is this a real thing?
I dunno. But I'd err on the side of caution in this case. Wiener wars doesn't sound like an appropriate game to be sharing with a friend.

OMG I have laughed out loud at so many of these posts. I miss out on all of this not having kids!
The only thing I really remember about private parts when I was little was when I was three or so and took a bath with my male cousin. It was the first time I saw a penis and I was absolutely fascinated by it lol.
I feel like if they made lego hair big enough, grown men would do this.
I actually know a guy* who was fired from a job for (among other reasons) going into the costume shop, putting wigs on his dick, taking pics of it and texting the photos to, like, everyone he knew.
Whenever Thor and I see him around, we giggle like children and whisper about it.
*he's not my friend, ok, he's just a dude I met once or twice.

Of course it's not. lol, but I don't think either would be charged and labeled a childhood sex offender. We're talking about 2 kids of a similar age, engaging by choice. It's not sexual. I just think it's quite a jump from 'how do I handle this' to 'sex offender'. Kids are curious, it's normal.
I totally get that. I think there are some nutters that wouldn't agree. Lol.
I keep DS1 naked from the waist down at home because he uses the toilet 99% of the time then. The only issue is he has free access to the goods. He plays with himself all the time. *sigh*

sorry - but hilarious!! I've had plenty of comments to DS telling him that yes, I'm sure it does feel good when you touch yourself like that - but please don't do it in front of me and do it in private while you're alone.
I'd be calm and just let them know that they shouldn't be touching anyone's private's but their own. good luck! LOL
My kid has been grabbing himself all the time since we switched him to underwear. Not even aware he's doing it.
This morning I went to a mom's meetup group at the park. We're all sitting around talking and in between playing, R keeps running up to us, saying whatever he can to get attention and then running away. Like "I'm superman! I can fly!"
At one point, he runs up to us and yells "I'm a strong man!" While grabbing himself.
