Hi all. I'm mostly a lurker, but I'd appreciate input on IKEA couches. I'm planning on taking a trip there this weekend, and I figured it would be nice to hear from people who have or have had a couch from IKEA. What kind did/do you have, do you like it, and would you recommend it?

We have a Kivic sofa with the chaise. We've had it three years, I think? The bottom cushions tend to slip forward a bit causing the back cushions to slide down into the gap. Otherwise, it's been great. Toss the covers in the wash from time to time, it holds up great. I love that I can switch the color of the couch whenever I want. We're planning to pick up a gray cover next time we're there.
We've had a Karlstad sectional for 18 months and we *really* like it. It's held up well (except the cushions in the corner, which is "my" spot, and I've beaten them up) and it's super comfortable. Assembly was easy, just make sure you take a HUGE vehicle.
I don't have a couch, but I have several pieces from Ikea (TV stand, bookshelves, kitchen pieces) and they've held up really well. I've been very happy with any Ikea purchase we've made.
We have the tidafors sofa and loveseat. So far, they have held up very well. We've taken them apart to move them a couple of times and have had no issues. We like the set a lot.

I also have a Karlstad, but only for six months so I really comment on how well it holds up over time. We have it configured with a chaise and it is very comfortable.
I have a leather Kramfors chaise sectional that's about seven years old. The leather got a terrible rip that I'm somehow living with, but the body and cushions have held up really nicely.
We have the kramfors sofa and love it. We've had it for 6ish years and it has held up really well. It looked brand new up until dd started trashing everything she came into contact with.

I have the Karlstad too. I have had it for a year now and it is holding up well. Ditto the person who said you need to have a big vehicle. We went with our two cars thinking it'd fit...and it didn't. We had to call my MIL to come with her SUV to help us bring it home.
We have a regular ektorp and a sectional ektorp. Almost six years old still good shape. Easy to switch out covers. Yes we had the sectional delivered. I think it was like 79 bucks or something like that at the time.

We have the Tidafors sofa as well (and I think the Kivik ottoman in matching fabric). We love our sofa. We actually just took it apart to move this weekend and it went fine.
I find IKEA stuff lasts well enough if you buy their wooden/bamboo options.
