Uh so. I wore a maxi skirt to a job interview today and paired it with a blazer. I was complimented from the two folks interviewing me on my skirt and how put together I looked.
It all depends on the skirt.
ETA: I will post a picture from the fitting room. AND I wore a slip under it so that it didn't cling.

We are business casual here, and some of the women wear maxi skirts/dresses. I think it depends on the job you do.... sit at a desk all day, work in warehouse, interact with customers, etc.

Probably not. I think most jackets that pair well with a maxi, like a jean jacket, are strictly casual. A more formal jacket doesn't seem like it goes with a maxi.

I wear them to my business casual office. I usually only do it on Fridays though. We don't have an official casual Friday but everyone does dress a little less formal on Fridays.
I think they can be. But what kind of shoes are you allowed to wear to work? I like maxis with sandals and if you aren't allowed to wear sandals to work, that might make it look weird.
I was thinking open toed nude wedges or the j crew dupe wedges.
I worked in an office with many religious people where it was business casual because religion dictated that women fully cover their legs and not wear pants. Other than that, no.
With the right skirt and styled correctly, I think you could aaaaaaaaaaaaaalmost get there, but not quite. But depending on how strict your office is about defining (I guess enforcing is the better word) business casual, you could get away with it.

Yeah I thought about this.
I mean, I wear cotton dresses with blazers all the time. What is the difference of it being a long dress vs short?
