A FB friend of mine just got her Ed.D this week and I was surprised because she referred to her "group" as defending "our" dissertation. Apparently she was in a 2-year program that had a group capstone project. While I'm happy for her, I admit, I'm feeling a little disgruntled that she got what's perceived as close to the same degree I have, for half the work (I know they're not exactly the same degree, that's why I said "perceived.")
I want matching pjs with planes on them for the boys to wear next week when we fly (we leave the house around 4am, I'm leaving them in pjs). I have checked every store I can think of and I cannot find anything. I've put way more effort into this than it's worth.

Do you have a PhD? Because as a teacher whose hubby has his PhD, I can promise you they are very much not the same at all!! That group thing is weird.

Dylan has some Carter's ones with planes one them. I got them at Kohls.

Yes, mine is a PhD. I know in academia they're not the same to most people, but in the general world and in some colleges they're treated as the same.

My coffee tastes like soap. I'm thinking that I hand washed this cup, and didn't rinse it good enough. It's awful, but yet I continue to drink it.
We just got back from Sesame Place yesterday, and even though we only stayed two nights, I was so happy to sleep in my own bed. Everyone was exhausted, and sleeping before 8:30.
I'm not sure what Kate and I are going to do today. We have no major plans, and I kind of like that.

My friend just presented her thesis with a group, but it was for her master's degree. I've never heard of such a thing for any thesis project, no matter what the degree. Is this a new thing?
We were at one of V's docs yesterday and she's gained 2 lbs since her 2 year in April!! Also 1/2 an inch. That seems like a lot, right? Maybe it was all that pizza and ice cream down the shore.

The school she got it from is a newer program, so maybe it is? I don't know.
Abby has really gotten into watching old Scooby Doo shows and it's even dumber than I remembered. Every single episode deals with some bad guy with the ingenuity of a rock--apparently the only way to commit a crime is by pretending to be some ghoul, and everyone falls for it despite knowing there's no such thing.

Target has Planes 2 tee shirts. Would those work? And it is on cartwheel right now!
The weather is cooperating and Andrew woke up in a MUCH better mood than he went to bed in. Guess what that means? BLUEBERRIES!! I'm psyched to take him blueberry picking. Maybe we'll make some muffins or something this afternoon.

Wow, that's a definite growth spurt!
Manco and Manco...mmmm. Did I hear that they're closing?

No khols here too late to get something shipped now too.

We're all tired and grumpy today and I know when DH gets home, he's going to be even more tired and grumpy. He had to go to work last night at 12, so he only had an hour or so of sleep beforehand, grabbed a few hours overnight on the couch in his office and is hoping to come home somewhere around lunch, early afternoon.
Of course, him getting up woke me up, and then Caleb was up for an extra long time at 3. When he finally settled down, I'd been awake so long I had a hard time falling asleep; was almost asleep when Abby came into bed, just because. Of course, that meant that when Caleb woke up at 6, it also woke her up, an hour earlier than she's been waking up lately.
It's going to be a great day. At least Abby won't be pestering me about going outside to do anything strenuous because she's grounded. Hooray for excuses to be lazy!
