HoneySpider DC? AWESOME! I can even help you determine which apartment buildings to avoid. haha. I think you should move here soon, before we are gone. Otherwise I'll have to come back here to visit.
Maybe you should call them and tell them to hurry up with the process, we're ready to move
No no nope, can't happen. I already missed out on one WC get together, I can't miss a second one! (Unless you invite me alone and give me a place to stay, I could probably swing the trip money wise that way.) lol!

You are invited to stay at the shoebox I might be living in.
Going from LCOL to HCOL causes some major sticker shock. It's my one reservation about potentially moving there but I'm sure we can make it work somehow.
Oh, I forgot to formally update everyone that M's test results came back normal. They presume his levels were elevated because of being early. I'll take it! I'm soo relieved.

I'll sleep on a couch if I get to meet you.
(I liked your post for the first part not the second)
HCOL sucks. Is this job a higher wage to accommodate for the HCOL?
I just stopped over at my parents house to grab their mail as they are out of town for 10 days and my sister is out of town today until Sunday too. I forgot to bring my key to their house so I ended up bringing their mail and newspapers home with me.
I may or may not have raided their garden while I was there. my mom won't care because some of it will be over ripe before they get back. I grabbed carrots, green onion, and some lettuce. Yum yum yum.
My pup can smell the carrots and he is upset I haven't given him any yet. He is obsessed with them.

It will definitely be higher. High enough? Not sure. If DH does get an offer we'll be anxious to see what the salary is.

Hopefully it will be high enough. Will you look for work there as well? (Or are you looking in that same city? I recall something about you looking for work.)

HoneySpider definitely HCOL here! Uuuuuuuusually the salaries correlate so I hope if your H gets the job the compensation makes it worth it. My FIL has worked at 2 Universities in the area and was able to make a good living. I am so excited. I really hope this works out for you. You guys deserve it!
awick14 Do you give your pup the carrots raw? We haven't tried those yet. He's had blueberries and cantaloupe I think, and pickles.
Yes, our vet says that giving dogs raw carrots is the same as giving them denta sticks (or similar treats) but it's WAY healthier for them. The crunchiness of the carrots get between their teeth.
We buy a 2lb bag of carrots when we don't have fresh ones. We either give them as treats or mix some cut up, 2-3 inch pieces, with his dinner. He also gets the peelings from carrots as well.

I'm looking there, I really don't want to go back to work FT but I will if I have to of course. It's all going to depend on salary and how much we need beyond that....if I can get away with PT I will do that.
Ok so I can get flights (return) to the DCA airport for ~$1,000. (Cheapest ones I found.)
If it needs to be the other airport I can research that too. Lol
Holy cow that is expensive! DCA is 15 minutes from me so that's super close. However, check Dulles and Baltimore too in case one of them is cheaper. They're still only 45 minutes away.
HoneySpider if he gets the job, would it start before school (so in August) or not until the fall? We're probably going to move the very beginning of September but maybe I can talk my H into staying longer, because I think this g2g is important
They WANT someone in for the 1st week of school which is the last week of August. And that's definitely doable for us IF they don't wait too long to make an offer. So we'll see.
Moo (my pup) just put on a show for the neighborhood kids. First it was three kids, who were very polite and asked us if they could pet him. Then we hear a shout of "Moose is out!" by some kids who then raced over on their bikes. They were simultaneously telling him to Sit, high five, down, and speak. My pup tried to follow along, and then promptly started walking when he was ready to go. Then we continued on our walk and heard an adult sitting out go, "Hey that looks like Moose!" My dog is famous LOL. I love him.

My dog loves carrots too. I think it's the satisfying crunch that does it for her. She also likes cucumbers, apples, and bananas. I think she likes carrots better than meat!
