I am getting to nervous for MH to travel to Europe next week for work. In my head I know the chances of anything happening are slim, but it 'a still making me anxious.
I'm starting to feel like we're in a movie, and not in a good way.
I really hope they are able to find that plane.
Yes. Like they will find some horrible thing that's taking these planes. Like the Kaiju in Pacific Rim. Or a black hole or another dimension. Alien abduction. Something really effing weird.

This can't be the first time a plane rerouted on account of sand storms (or any storm for that matter ). Is contact always lost? For ten hours? Are we only hearing about it now due to recent events? This is bizarre.
Eta: oh no I just saw that it crashed poor people how horrible
Gahhh!!! I saw only Africa in the link and my heart stopped for a minute. My mother is flying in from South Africa...well it left yesterday and I'm picking her up tonight.

It's freaking me out. How do planes disappear?
My 15 year old SS is in Ireland for another few weeks. I didn't think he was old enough to take a plane there by himself but his Mom and Dad were find with it. I'm worried. I'm sure he will come home and be totally safe.
I get that they can crash. I don't get that they can disappear.

I think we all need to remember that "we've lost contact" doesn't typically mean the plane has just disappeared into thin air (with the exception of the obvious MH flight). I would guess that 9 times out of 10, they know the plane has crashed when they release that statement but they can't come out and say it until families have been notified.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I would still much rather be on a plane than in a car.
